      Meridian Waste has neglected to pick up the trash in our area of ************** for three weeks. Since they acquired **** in September they have only picked up on the correct day 3 times. Several weeks the trash has been missed in our area completely. I have contacted them numerous times via email and phone and they have yet to resolve this issue. I have asked for an area manager to call me and no response. I have contacted the corporate headquarters in ** and have not seen any resolution to the issue. The county commission in ************** has met several times on this issue and Meridian has not done anything. I believe that the ************************** has also met on this issue. Its not just **************, all the areas that the **** station services are reporting issues. The ****** Journal and the ******* Record have both published articles about the poor service. The town of ****** even credited all their customers a month on their trash bill because of the poor service. There are hundreds of complaints on local town ******** pages about their service. This is the worst service a trash company has ever provided in our area. We pay the county and the county contracts to Meridian. I spoke to the manager of Barbour county solid waste and was told that Meridian has trucks in need of repair and the company will not send money to fix them. This is a sorry excuse for a multi-million dollar company. I think that Meridian should should credit all the fees back to all the counties that the service for at least the last 2 months. This is a major health issue as people have 3 weeks worth of garbage stored that needs to be dumped or disposed of in other ways. I personally know someone who had it sitting in their garage and maggots started to grow in it. Its poor service, disgusting, and a health hazard. I can send pictures of the news articles and posts on ******** to back all these claims if needed.

      Due to mechanical issues, services disrupted in ************** causing delays in collection service.  

      Meridian Waste is working to correct all issues in order to provide more consistent service.  

      Unfortunately,Meridian Waste does not collect payment from individuals within ************** as the County secures all payments directly; thus, a refund cannot be issued.

      They charge a monthly fee to pick up garbage this week they have not picked up garbage on **************** 1138 despite a call and notice that it had not been picked up on Wednesday which is regular pick up day I called yesterday 2/6/25 and informed them no one on this road has been served with the service they take our money for and it's still not picked up today 2/7/25

      ********* complaint was valid as Meridian Waste Alabama had a new driver on route and the customer was missed on his regular collection day due to the new driver not fully knowing his collection route.  Upon notice from the customer and the ********************, a separate driver and truck was dispatched on 2/8/2025 to collect the missed containers including Mr. ******* and the other residents missed on the street.  

      Meridian Waste believes the issue has been rectified with no other additional action needed on the part of the company.

      We have been requesting a trash can since August 2024. We have contacted the company multiple times and are always told a can would be delivered next week. This has been going on for months. We were told our can was picked up because of unpaid bills. We were on automatic payments which was offered by the company. They were not taking money out of our card and we were unaware. When I asked why, the lady said their system does not recognize automatic payments in etowah county. We were never told this. They just picked up our can and have never returned it. The bill was paid in full when we realized. We just want a trash can. They are still sending us bills for a service that we are not provided. Please help.

      We have ordered a trash can three months ago and paid $50 for the service. Have called multiple times and keep being told to wait. Others have received their garbage cans when they have moved after us. We are still waiting and have not received a garbage can, with a toddlers diapers and construction going on.

      Constant issues with this company! We have had numerous days where they have skipped our road and not picked up our trash. They have picked up my additional can twice and although charging me for it take 2-3 months to bring my can back out after complaining. Now they are saying they are out of garbage cans workers are LAZY! Dump trash everywhere when they do pick up and do not have the decency to get out and pick up their messes which leaves our neighborhood looking terrible!!!!

      Dear BBB,

       

      Please know that the account under the name and address of ***************************, ********************************************************************* *****, has an unpaid balance in the amount of $228.70 due to ***************************** which was acquired by Meridian Waste ************ effective 9-1-2024.  This resident lives within unincorporated ************* of which **************, now a wholly owned subsidiary of Meridian Waste ************, has an exclusive contract for residential solid waste collections.  The contract specifically allows for the interruption of service for non-payment as exhibited in the screen shot below.  This address was placed on stop service and the garbage cart was collected due to non-payment.  

       

      Meridian Waste ************ and ***************************** will pursue our legal rights to secure payment for past due invoices and will not be able to resume service or replace the cart until all payments have been made in full and future payments are made in advance of services.
