If I knew what a horrible company this was, I never would have rented from them. First of all, it is extremely difficult to reach a competent person. Everyone places blame on someone else. The people there are not informed and most are rude. When my son's lease was up, I felt like we were out of jail. Do not rent anything from them - they make the entire process cumbersome and only want your money.

We rented from this property management company for three years. Our problem comes in at end of our lease. Two weeks before closing on my new home we experienced a bit of uncertainty that conflicted with our move out date. I called the leasing office and communicated the situation with Ann, one of the managers. She told me it would be ok and they would work with us because no one had signed a lease on the unit. I expected to pay a prorated rate for however long we may have needed because it would only be a couple of days. It ended up being 4. Move out day comes and another manager, Joey, informed us that we needed to be out of the unit by a certain time and our keys were late, otherwise we’d be charged $50 an hour until the keys were returned. We informed him of the situation and that we already communicated with Ann. He tells us Ann did not say that and he has nothing to show him anything otherwise. He threatens to charge us $1200 a day unless we are out. I tried to call Ann and inquire about what’s going on and never got a response. I called Joey back shortly after trying to get in touch with Ann, to try to come to an agreement and reiterate what was communicated to me. Joey proceeds to continue to tell me I’m not telling the truth and is unwilling to work with me. Eventually he says my family can stay but we have to pay $600 for the 4 days we’ll be there past our move out day. I ask for an explanation of the amount because that amount is more than half the monthly rent. He threatens me with the original $50 an hour after that question, and he treated me very rudely. My problem was not paying I just wanted an explanation as to why the rate was so expensive because it seemed excessive and predatory. I still have not received any transparency from this company and feel I was treated unfairly for an error in communication on their end. I would not suggest anyone rent from this company if you are in the Auburn area because they are rude and unprofessional.

I don’t often leave reviews, but the situation I had with them was especially appalling. My husband and I were set to move in at the end of July, and he unexpectedly and quickly died at the end of June. I called within a week of him passing to figure out next steps as I would be moving in with family, and the first words out of Thomas’s mouth were “have you found another tenant yet?” Given that I was preparing funeral arrangements and trying to navigate through the complete and total upheaval of my entire life, I clearly hadn’t added “find new tenants” to the top of my to-do list. When I told him no I hadn’t, he told me “it’s a joint lease so you’re responsible for it in its entirety until someone else signs a new lease.” I completely understand vetting stories and having to navigate logistics with tenants, but never once was I asked for a death certificate for legal reasons nor was I given any additional options or plans. Several of my friends ended up posting the re-listing and thankfully we were able to find a new tenant, but Hayley still wanted to keep the entirety of my security deposit and pet fee even though we had never even stepped foot on the property. We ended up negotiating the fee down, but ultimately I still lost nearly $1,000 in fees that they also charged the new tenants (again, without ever having been in the property). I never wanted a “sorry” or to be given any special accommodations, but to be treated like a human would have been nice. In all honesty, dealing with this company after my husband died was the hardest thing I had to do. I will always discourage people from renting from them, and I hope next time someone calls just looking for someone to be kind and helpful in the middle of a tragedy, they remember that the person on the other end is a human.

If I could rate less, I would. Move in day for my daughter (college student)...cat urine and feces was so bad that the floors had to be replaced. She is allergic to cats! It was absolutely the filthiest place I have ever seen. Spent the day of what was supposed to be move in day cleaning the place and couldn't move in until the flooring was finally laid. Blinds torn up, holes in walls, cat urine and feces on walls as well as carpet, no toilet seats, bugs, yard and trees overgrown...I could go on and on and on. Absolutely disgusting. Fast forward to present...lawn care and pest control is included in the lease as well as replacing the ac filter. None of these things get done and when maintenance requests are submitted, they get denied. Snakes in the yard and under the deck bc the weeds are so tall 9 we are talking 4-5 feet tall). We had to call the city inspectors office and file a complaint about the vegetation. You know it is bad when you have to file a complaint about your own yard!! It wasn't until the inspector came out and contacted them that Hayley Management agreed to cut the grass. Move out day is approaching, and we cannot wait to be refused our deposit as I see so many say. I have an attorney on standby and am 100% prepared to file suit against this horrid company.
