      I just received my utility bill and was shocked by the amount! When I call customer **********************, I was told that I was being billed for the month of July because it wasn't their fault that the post office hadn't delivered my bill. I am thoroughly discussed by what the lady said and to think that I didn't pay my bill. Bessemer utilities needs to do better and issue each customer they over charged a refund.

      I received an orange disconnect notice on Friday 08/23/24. On the notice it stated I have to pay $4915.40 by 08/28/24.(That's 2 business days to satisfy a bill that should have never been let get this high). When I went to talk to someone about why/how they let it go this far, and see if I can work out a payment plan, the lady was very rude. Her demeanor was out right nasty. She was not, in any way, friendly, polite or understanding. Some months my bill was $150, some $250, the last 4 months it's been $65, this past month was $628. On my usage print out, some months have 0. I guess I didn't use any power these months? . This tells me, for a fact, they have not been reading my meter correctly for the whole 5 years I've lived here. This is very wrong, in so many ways. I wish I had enough money to pay an attorney. I can't imagine why they allowed the bill to get so high, cause now I'm in a pickle, with a disabled dad and aunt, I don't know what I'm going to do. Bessemer Utilities is the worst!

      Father diedpower should have been cut off within 2 months according to policy. Let water and electric bill run from 7/12/2019 (he died on 7/26/2019) until 12/07/2021. His business received this bill, and it was shut down upon his death. Literally had to pay $3125.54 on back payments because of letting the billing build up for 18 months when water and electricity should have been disconnected in ************************************************ is this usual practice for this organization? I feel sorry for people who are faced with interest bearing bills upon the death of someone when the estate is in probate, and I had no right to cut it offdo people normally get an 18-month grace ****** before their utilities are cut off? Not where I live for surechallenging this because the building was unused for that ****** of time. How could it be this high and with sewer bill when no toilets were being flushedI dont want free; I just want fair

      I have made several phones calls over the last year and a half trying to get them to fix the water pressure in my neighborhood. My neighbor has also tried calling them about this. I've even had my plumber calling trying to get them to fix it. My neighbor and I have such low water pressure in our houses that we have to wash our dishes in the tub because our kitchen sinks only trickle. I have had a whole new water distribution system and water heat installed in my home and still I can't use my kitchen sink because there's not enough water coming out of the tap. I was told by my plumber it was definitely a city issue since my neighbor is also having the issue. When we try to call, we get put on hold for hours. One time I held for 2 hours with no one ever coming to the call. They won't talk to my plumber because he's not on the account. It's imp[ossible to get assistance there. How can a PUBLIC utility company refuse to help the public, it's paying customers? This is INSANE business practices. Meanwhile, my neighbor and I are washing our dishes in the freaking BATHTUB and having to pay for this service! There needs to be a checks and balances system within this so-called public utility service.

      They bundle water and electric service together, they should be separate. I turned off the water to stop water and sewer bills, ** told that electricity also will be cut. I want to keep the *** electricity for security lights and heat. I dont use water and sewer, but payed $60 a month for nothing. There is no reason Bessemer Utilities cannot bill for electricity alone. I will contact *** to see why not. to leave the power on.***************************** ***********************.
