Consigned a Goyard clutch in August in preparation of holiday expenses. Realized I didnt get a receipt or updated contract since shed moved, called right away and was sent to voicemail/left voicemail confirming. I later found an online buyer and contacted her initially trying to put her and the online buyer in touch about it.I contacted her a total of 8 times via calling during business hours, leaving voicemails, ******** messenger, and ******** comment and was completely ignored. In December I finally tracked her down as she's often closed during business hours and she said she had no idea what I was talking about.I told her I'd give her a few days to either return the purse or come up with another solution or I'd file a police report (I said this to her & put it in writing as well). Two weeks passed no contact. She had no explanation, acted shocked when I called the police, told them she never does paperwork. Bad business, bad person. I shared this on another site and someone else immediately said they had the same experience a few years ago and are shocked to see her still operating.

    Business Response

***************************** has been a consignor since 2013. She has consigned numerous items during that period. She has brought in items personally and have sent them via her son. There has never been any reason for her to have to "track me down".I was in my previous location for 10 years until January 2022 and my current location since February 2022. I was closed 3 weeks for the transition. My move and new location was posted on all of my social media sites, on voicemail message and posted on window of old location from January 2022 until the building was demolished in May 2022. My business hours are Tuesday-Friday, **** and Saturday ****. Prior to a 3 month closing due to Covid I was Tuesday-Friday ****, Saturday, ****. Those are my regular business hours . I do not close randomly during my regular posted business hours.

I have been closed for a week at Thanksgiving for the past 8 years. This is general knowledge to my long time customers and consignors. After returning from this Thanksgiving holiday closure, which was posted on door, social media pages and phone message I was informed by office manager of my building that an irate person came in their office to say they had been looking for me since March and I had stolen a ****************** bag from them. I had no idea who this person could have been. Approximately 8 days later ****** and her son came into my store and stated that she was there to talk about a very expensive Goyard bag that she had consigned. After getting over the initial shock that she was the person I had been told about, I told her that she was mistaken and she had never brought in that or any other high end designer handbag to me. She insisted she had and was going to give me time to think about resolving this and paying her for the bag. I told her I didn't need time because I knew she hadn't brought it in. After she left I double checked my inventory records and phone records. ****** nor her son ever  brought in that bag. and I have no voicemail from her concerning that bag. There was a ******** message that went to automatic response that I hadn't seen and she had me blocked from responding.

I closed for Christmas holiday at 7:00PM on December 23,2022. My holiday closing days were again posted on all of my social media outlets, on door of store and on voicemail message. Christmas Eve morning I stopped by my store and at approximately 11:15 had a police officer enter stating that there was a woman outside of my store saying someone had stolen her handbag. He was followed in by ******. She accused me of stealing her bag. I denied it. She admitted that she had no proof of any kind that she had consigned the bag or that I ever said I had the bag. The officer informed her that there was nothing he could do. The officer informed her that she could make a claim in civil court. Since then she has posted on several social media platforms her false accusations with every post getting more embellished. She claims to have talked to my landlord and discussed the possibility of me having dementia and if I would admit to struggling financially she would gladly take $600 as a settlement. She will post and then block me from responding.

****** and/or her son brought in items on 3 occasions shortly after I moved to my new location. They would drop off with the understanding that items I deemed unsellable would be donated to charity. As we have done since 2013.The vast majority of things brought in were leftovers from garage sales and clients cleanouts that was part of her personal assistant business. I have always been aware that she used other avenues to resell her items, presumably the nicer ones. There was usually very few items that were kept and consigned by me. I believe ****** did get an online sale for this bag. I believe she nor her son could account for the bag. I do not know what ****** or her son did with the bag but they didn't bring it to me.

I am currently seeking legal counsel in how to deal with what is now becoming slander and harassment.

I am rejecting this response because:
I contacted her 8 times beginning in August, immediately after dropping the item. I left her a voicemail then confirming the item. She never contacted me saying this wasnt true. She also never responded to the other 7 contacts via ******** message (which has read receipts), ******** comment (she responded to other comments), nor multiple voicemails. She is saying she never received the item but she did and my son was a witness to that. If she wanted to deny that, ****** was the time to contact me back, not 5 months later.
    Sincerely,
