      Delta 8 We took our wood chipper to this company to get it running. They said one of the cylinders does not work. We signed the invoice. They came back and told us they ordered the parts. They didn&#**;t tell us the parts were non-returnable even if they don&#**;t fix the problem. On 12/21/21, they called and said it needed a new engine. They said it would costs $10-14k to replace it. I felt this was a bait and switch. We told them we would come and pick it up. They have turned us over to collections. They should warn consumers ahead of time that the parts are non-returnable.

      Thank you for bringing this to our attention. At Altec, we strive to provide our customers with exceptional service.

       

      The customer brought their woodchipper in for repairs. After the initial repairs were approved, our service technicians uncovered additional issues during their work, noting that the engine would not run without additional necessary repairs. When we notified the customer of these issues, they declined any additional repairs, making the unit inoperable. The customer was billed $4,263.52 on 1/28/2022 for the work already done and parts ordered for the agreed upon initial repairs. The customer retrieved their equipment from our location without payment. The bill was sent to collections on 11/18/22 after multiple attempts to receive payment were refused. The customer offered to settle for $2,575.00 through collections on 11/30/22, and payment was successfully received 12/6/22. This matter has been settled and there is no outstanding bill or collections case.
