    Found my pets and did not contact me and then adopted them out to someone else. Got a call from the microchip company two months later. Called this business and was told they had tried to contact me but I show no record of that via email or telephone record. Business refuses to contact the adoptive contact to return my dogs to me.

    As the animal holding facility for the City of Homewood animal control, we are required by contract to hold any animals for a period of ****************************************************************************** this instance, the pet was held for nearly 2 months with the knowledge that it had previously been owned based on the presence of a microchip. During this time our staff as well as the microchip company made numerous attempts to contact the owner registered in the chip database. Also, during this time no contact was made from the owner looking for a missing pet. Due to the lack of communication, in accordance with our contract, after a period of almost 60 days, the pet was placed up for adoption and has been given to a wonderful family.
