I am writing to file a formal complaint against Helping Hands Carpentry, owned by *****************************, with the Better Business Bureau. My experience with this company has been extremely negative and I feel it is important to share my story to prevent others from going through a similar situation. Initially, ******************** came across as a friendly and humorous individual, but after he was paid for his services, he and his wife, ***************************, became completely unresponsive. Despite my attempts to contact them via text, they never replied except for one occasion when ******************** promised to come back to repair the damage on May 5th, 2023. However, he failed to show up and did not respond to any of my further texts. Moreover, ******************** did a substandard job and expected full payment for it. He even asked me to pay for a lift because he claimed his ladder was not long enough. This is completely unacceptable. A professional carpentry service should be equipped with all necessary tools and equipment, and not ask customers to bear additional costs for inadequate preparation. To make matters worse, ******************** left a gaping hole in my soffit while repairing the damaged wood on my house. He also overcharged me for a poor quality job, and damaged my lawn and driveway with his tow lift. I would not have paid him if I had known about the soffit damage beforehand. In conclusion, I find Helping Hands Carpentry to be unprofessional, unreliable, and untrustworthy. I demand a refund for the poor workmanship and damages incurred during their service. I hope the Better Business Bureau takes appropriate action against Helping Hands Carpentry to prevent them from scamming other unsuspecting customers in the future.

******************** began a bathroom remodel (shower, removed, and flooring removed, install a tile, shower and new tile floor, pull out a bathtub, and replace a vanity top) in early December, 2022. We insisted on a contract and he said he would be done by December 15, 2022. He was not. We left for ******** on December 17, 2022. He said he would be done in a few days and it would be ready when we got back. We arrived home on December 22, 2022 and the bathroom was a nightmare. The tile was uneven and done improperly in the shower. It did not drain. The shower door was installed improperly and would shatter if closed correctly. The tile floor was uneven as well, and grout was everywhere and not done as it should be. The sheet rock job from where the bathtub was removed, was not finished and/or paint ready. ******************** pronounce the job.done and said he would not be coming back. At that point, we owed him $3000 for the completion of the shower. Since the shower is unusable and the bathroom was done improperly, we gave him only $1000 of that money. We told him that we would not give him a bad review or contact the BBB. Through a text, his wife said they were very appreciative and wished us happy holidays. We showed her the pictures and video of the so-called completed job. We thought we were done with this.We have had four contractors come in and each of them have said that the entire bathroom needs to be redone, it is not usable. At this time we are having to pay another $8000 or so to have this redone. ******************** decided to turn us into a debt collections agency. We are fighting this as well.
