Young man came out this past Sunday. He was in the house about 5 minutes, took a picture of the squirrel cage and told my husband that the welds had came off. He then asked if my husband could weld, then told him it looks like you could add a couple tack welds to hold it. Or you could even use *************. Informed us that it is easy to take everything apart, said to take a picture of all the wires and the squirrel cage is on rollers. Then said the parts house cost $500 to open on a Sunday and they open up Monday at 7:30am. He said he would call first thing. At 9am I called to check the status. The reception said she would find out and call back, 10am she calls back with the cost of $425. I then tell her a little of what happened Sunday for her to tell me sorry. Since the tech that the company sent out decided to not help, my husband and I took the squirrel cage out ourselves. We found a website that sells the squirrel cage for $80. The tech also informed us that because the unit is so old they may not sell the squirrel cage. It was manufactured in ****. Tells us we may have to replace the entire unit. Cost of $10,000

Yes, we did go out to the residence on a Sunday to try and help the customer. The tech did find that the problem was the blower wheel, and explained to the customer that it would be a part that he would have to check with the supplier on when they open the next morning. The office did check and as soon as we heard back from the supplier we did give them the price of $425 installed. As far as the price that found it for, we cant and wont  search the internet for the lowest possible price, as we deal with the correct suppliers everyday. They wanted to hear nothing of this and the tech did say that the only other option would be to try to correct the problem on your own. They did not want to pay for anything. The customer did ask what if the part cant be found because of the age, what would a new system cost and he explained that Id depended on the efficiency rating and could be upward of $10,000. If feel like we did what we were ask to do, but the customer was looking for something that we couldnt provide for no cost.
