    Complaint: 22792418

I am rejecting this response because:

I hired this contractor that is based out of ******* December 11, 2023 noted that I reside in *********. Our house had caught on fire and shortly after I experienced a heart attack with open heart surgery. In our in initial agreement, the house was supposed to be complete in August of 2024. At this time, we lived in a trailer with two grandkids, two dogs, and two cats. This contractor (business owner) has made it a hassle to get this **** finished by showing up when he pleases such as 1 hour a day or from months away at a time. We have tried to reason with his and give him the benefit of the doubt, however, he refuses to answer our calls for business related inquiries. Will not come together with a solution for issues that have came up since he has started building. As time went on waiting for the house to be finished, more months were added on and here we are almost mid February and this house is NOT complete as the contractor stated. Also, the fourth and fifth installment were paid at the same time when the electrician and **** showed up to do their job. To this current day, the **** company and electrician are not yet to be paid by the contractor which whom I have paid as I stated. During this time he has showed up at his other job sites with new material and has not showed up at my house once, and finally when he came he had a brand new car, yet those businesses were not paid still. The contract was not completed in full as he stated. He has just recently offered to come fix some of these issues after I made this complaint and once again did not show up. These areas include but are not limited to; the exterior foundation next to the garage where the fire had taken place has not been removed and replaced nor the first floor joists have not been shored up. There is a 25x25 ft area that is sagging that has not been fixed. This area needs proper floor support. Here is a list of the things that were either not fixed, started, or finished:

    Exterior foundation includes but is not limited to;

1.Did not seal around pipes or around doors.

2.Siding panels are falling off of the house and not placed properly. One wall is so bad he said he would pull all of it off to investigate and has not done so.

3.Beams on front porch were damaged during construction on the house.

    4.Missing screens for windows.

5.Installed 3 damaged windows of which he was aware of and has still not fixed. 1 is in my grandaughters room in which she resided in on the second story.

6.Rain gutter spouts not installed correctly to the pipe on the ground.

7.Did not caulk or silicone around doors or outdoors lights.

8.There is broken glass and nails all around the perimeter of the yard.

    9. Still has not secured upper deck to awning which is a safety hazard, I had to put wood brackets to hold it till the install proper brackets. I have offered to do plenty of the work if he brought me the material to fix his mistakes.

    10. Front porch beam was 3 inches off, I had to tear it apart and rebuild it myself because of a safety hazard that it is holding up the second story cause he never showed up.

This is only some of the exterior and more that I cannot even begin with.

    Interior includes but is not limited to;

    1. Most doors are not straight, they do not latch or close, some are not even painted.

    2. Crown moulding is separating from wall and ceiling and is also not sealed.

    3. Stairs are not complete. They are missing trim and are not painted or clear coated.

    4. The flooring they installed has a lot of scratches and divots in wood from them leaving heavy equipment on the floor without using wood or cardboard to protect the new flooring and there is an inch and a half from flooring to wall that is missing and needs to be completely replaced or repairs. We have spent $3,000 of our own money to clean and repair these floors.

    5. They installed 2 broken ceiling fans, he was aware before installation and agreed to replace blades.

    6. The water spout in the master bathroom and pot filler in kitchen both leak and he is aware and has not came to repair it.

    7. Every room has paint runs down the walls and some walls do not have enough paint to where you can see drywall, therefore knowing they did not use enough paintnor two coats to finish walls.

    8. Kitchen cabinet above fridge is separating from wall.

    9. None of the crown moulding matches our cabinets and some are missing stain, it looks horrible.

    10. Second bedroom upstairs is upstairs is SO BAD none of the walls are straight or square. Nothing lines up. You can still smell fire smoke because he did not get rid of the charred wood. Same room we are missing insulation on interior walls. This room fan also needs to be repaired, it only works in reverse and does not cool the room.

    11. Spaces in between kitchen cabinet doors leading to my food molding quickly, the others rub which causes doors to be uneven later.

    12. They cutout part of the floor from the second bedroom upstairs to repair and electrical line and when they put the wood back it is like a sponge and goes down about two inches and was not repaired correctly. They did it in a rush and covered it in carpet.

    13. Every single time one person comes to work on something in the house they leave the house filled completely with dust, dirt, scraps, ad trash. They have not ONCE hired anyone to clean the house before us moving in or while e moved in. This is one of the many reasons the floors are no good. We have made many trips to the dump site to get rid of their trash, wood, cardboard and much more. This is very unprofessional. In my contract I paid for them to provide dumpsters throughout the rebuilding process, which he did for some part but not all.

    14. ALSO, we paid him to do the demo work which he did not show up for weeks at a time and we did 80% demo work. We filled his dumpsters with wood, insulation, toilets, drywall, sinks, ect....

    15. Used wrong paint on the doors which has been peeling off since day one and has not yet repainted.

    16. Kitchen counter BAR is falling down with a piece of wood to hold it up, they have not attempted to fix it since day one and also have not installed the support brackets.

There are more to name but most importantly the structure of the home and floor joists need to have support and the foundation by the garage has not even been touched and do not know why he would wait to fix that last..

He has not gotten his last installment because he has not finished my house, there are too many things to be done to say it is finished. He has not answered my calls or texts in weeks to months and now I have the **** calling me stating they have not been paid and I gave him the installment when they came to my house to do their job, so I do not understand why the **** company was not paid when I gave him the installment. I am ready to take legal action and press charges if this is not done in a timely manner. I asked him for his contractor license number and he has not given it to me and I want all the license numbers of every single person that was worked on this house.

People from the city and county have walked through this house and cannot believe what he has done. They mention alot of the product looks used and does not fit properly for this house as if it was thrifted and not new. He has boughten the cheapest lowest grade items such as doors, mirrors, sinks ect..... He gave us a pamphlet to choose our floor, counter tops, cabinets, doors and more and NONE of it is the same as what we chose. He scammed us out of $320,000 for low grade material. I will include pictures of the things that are not finished, have not been started or need to be repaired. I will be happy to share my texts and calls that were left unanswered and not responded to as well.

    Sincerely,

    **** ******

This is the list I have previously sent to you below. As of 1/9/25 ***** **** has came on ONE occasion to partially fix the floor under the house, Had one person put one coat of paint on the stairway. The painter was here for 2 hours last week and told us he needed more paint and didnt have enough to finish and painter has never came back. Worker has called to fix counter about 3 weeks ago to fix counter top that is falling and has never showed up. He has not showed us a notice of completion because he has not paid the subcontractors or electric company and now we are threatened to have our power shut and to move out because Mr. **** has failed to provide a notice of completion or final inspection. He still has not completed about 98% of the list below and has not been answering or responding to my calls nor texts for the last 2 weeks. The water line broke and we had to pay a plumber $289 in repairs for a water line they put in and did not repair. He did have a plumber come out after and fix our pot filling spout on our stove and thats all. They fixed brick on foundation but did not put clips to hold the brick and bricks are now crooked. We still have 90% safety concerns that have not been addressed or took initiative to fix first for example second story window is not placed properly and falls out and this is in my 10 year old grand daughters room. Cabinets are seperating, has not replaced broken ceiling fans, that were installed broken. Our house is exposed to humidity and water because the siding is still falling off and that has not been installed correctly nor fixed and with thunderstorms and tornado weather it is only getting worse and making everything fall apart. Below is the list I sent that needed to be done. I will mark done next to what has been done and leave what still needs to be done. NOTHING from the exterior list has been fixed or done. Only 2 things have been completed off of interior list so 98% of this list has not been addressed by mr. **** and he still has not answered my calls or communicated or put forth any effort to have subcontractors come here. STILL has not had final inspection or notice of completion to prove job is done. Without this and him paying the electric company they will be shutting of our power on 04/20/2025 and this is the extension we got from them. We are suspecting he took our money and ran. He works on other projects after we paid him and he has not completed our house or paid the sub-contractors working on this house and now we are being harrassed for money that we have paid him to do his job. FYI this is only partial and main things of a list that I have put together, theres is still more that I dont have here as well.

    Exterior:

1.Did not seal around pipes or around doors.
2.Siding panels are falling off of the house and not placed properly. One wall is so bad he said he would pull all of it off to investigate and has not done so.
