      I had an auto loan with FSCU for a 2007 Jeep Wrangler. I paid said vehicle off earlier this year 2022. They refuse to release title due to a negative checking account. My loan papers say nothing of the sort can happen. I am now at a point where I need to sell the vehicle and can not due to not having my title. My loan for the vehicle was paid in full.

      FSCU agrees that the member paid off the vehicle as stated.  There is a Cross-collateralization and Release of Lien clause within the loan agreement signed by the member and is being invoked by the credit union due to there being a negative balance on two accounts at the Credit Union.  The member stated in 2017 that a monthly payment would be made to pay off the balance owed the credit union.  The member did not follow through with that promise.  The member offered to make payments recently.  The credit union offered for the member to pay half of the amount owed the credit union and make payments on the remainder of the balance.  We have not heard a response on the latest offer.
