I contracted with Rocky Childers to replace the roof on my mothers house. This was an insurance claim due to wind damage. In the process of replacing the roof, he found holes in the roof decking. The insurance company was billed for these supplemental charges for repairing the holes on 8/29/23. The insurance company issued a check made payable to my mother for these charges on 9/15/23. My mother passed away on 9/18/23. I was unable to cash this check until my mothers attorney scheduled a date with Probate Court authorizing me as executor of her estate. As soon as I was authorized as executor, I was able to open an estate account, cash the insurance check, and issue a check to Rocky Childers on 12/18/23.On 3/18/24, another contractor demolished a closet and treated mold that had formed as a result from one of the holes in the roof decking. This contractor found that one of the holes in the roof was only partially repaired, which allows for continued leaking. I have contacted Rocky Childers office 3 times over the past 3 weeks to arrange for him to return and repair this hole. His office manager has relayed my messages to Mr. ********************** but he has not returned my call.

5-21-2024  Mr. ********************** called BBB to provide his position to your complaint.  Mr. ********************** said he did a re-roof job and replaced some old, soft decking. Your insurance complaint paid for the additional deck work. Mr. ********************** crew did not notice a bad rafter so it was not replaced, nor did you pay for it.

If you would like to get a quote for rafter work, you can give Mr. ********************** a call.

I am rejecting this response because:

The hole is in the roof decking circled in yellow in first attachment. The closest ***** is over 10 feet away indicated by the red arrow. This photo was taken by ********************** Construction and sent to me and **************************** ********************** Constructions contract indicates that this work has a 2 year labor warranty.

I hired ***************************, owner of Phoenix Shield, to treat mold in the closet subsequent to Mr. ********************** work of repairing holes and replacing the roof. ****************** discovered a hole in the roof decking above this closet that had only partially been repaired. He pointed out a new piece of wood had been added but a significant size hole was left. The second attachment shows this.

I contacted ********************** Construction on 3/20/24, the following day of Mr. ******** work to ask that this hole be repaired. I received no response from Mr ********************** regarding this contact, nor to my follow up contacts on 3/25 or 4/1/24. As a result, the mold treatment will need to be repeated in addition to the repair of the hole in the roof decking.

    Sincerely,

    ***************************
