On Wednesday, May 14th, at approximately 7:30-7:45p.m., I took my truck to Anthonys Carwash located on ******************************** The purpose was to wash and detail the truck before dropping it off at *************************** Body Shop to do warranty paint touch up from the original purchase. The charge of the carwash and detail was $60.00.The young man cleaning my floormates replaced the floormat into the truck with the accelerator pedal pinned to the floor. I placed the truck in gear and it took off at an alarming rate of speed toward a concrete wall once I removed my foot from the break. Not knowing what was going on, I quickly tried to knock the truck out of gear, put it in park and turn it off. My first inclination was the cleaning crew did something and it was either starting out of park or it needed to be rebooted as this version of pick-up truck is primarily computerized. Being frazzled in the moment, I restarted it and controlled everything with the break to figure out what was going on with the vehicle. I allowed enough time to allow the screens to full boot and then could see the *** redlining to know something was wrong. I controlled the Truck enough to remove it from being near anywhere it could potentially strike a pedestrian, I parked it and got out of the truck. When I got out of the truck and looked in the floorboard I saw the accelerated pinned behind the floormat.I was able to contact ***** on Thursday morning, May 15th around 8 a.m. I told him of the events stated above and that I would like to work with the owners of Anthonys hand in hand to resolve this issue. He told me He was going to contact his bosses and would be back in contact with me. He called me back around noon that day to let me know he had spoken to one of his bosses and was waiting to hear back from them and didnt want me to think they were not contacting me. I have not heard anything from them as of today, May 25, 2025.

Hello, ******* one of our owners spoke with ***** today 5/27 and had a great conversation. There was miscommunication on our part with the manager onsite. The customer (*****) truck is under warranty and is going to have his truck checked out to make sure everything is good with it. ***** is going to be in contact with ******* and keep us updated once the dealership checks everything out.

I am rejecting this response because:

I was contacted via phone call and text message by ******* from Anthonys carwash on Wednesday May 28th. He apologized for not getting back to me, stating he was under the impression I would be reaching out to them with information. Referring to my initial conversation with *****, Anthonys Carwash manager located on HWY 150, had informed me they had spoken to one owner and would contact me when they heard from the second. This was Thursday,May 15th.
When speaking with *******, he started out stating his uncle or some relative had a shop over behind one of their carwash locations and wished I could see it. ******* proceeded to tell me he spoke with his family member and if I heard some clicking noise it was the transmission trying to find a notch to place the truck in park. I told him I did not hear a clicking noise. At one point I interjected that I was just thankful no one was hurt as the situation could have been worse. This seemed to catch him of guard as he shifted his conversation to agree with my statement.

Instead of asking me to explain the incident and what I am currently encountering with my vehicle, he proceeded to tell me about several vehicles he owned and issues each had with transmissions and hard shifting. At some point in the conversation, he asked if my vehicle is under warranty. I simply replied yes. I did this because it is a new vehicle and is covered for early wear and tear under normal use conditions as defined in the ************ warranty contract.I in no way stated or insinuated any potential damage to the vehicle caused by the incident that occurred on Wednesday, May 14th would be covered by any warranty as warranties are legal contracts between the vehicle owner and manufacturer for instances of extraordinary wear and tear within a specified time frame. Additionally, he asked questions suggestively inquiring details of my truck such as, a truck like that probably cost $80,000, huh? I uncomfortably replied yes to this question.

I was cordial and appreciative of the effort to contact me;however, I feel this encounter lacked substance to honestly seek to remedy my situation. The only comment I had the opportunity to mention pertaining to the incident was the motor was redlined at ***** to ***** RPMs when I had to turn it off. This was in response to ******** comment to something to the effect of I was not traveling fast when I stopped. I had to finally transition out of the conversation and inform him I would continue to drive the truck for evaluation and set up time with the dealership (******** *********) to have it fully inspected. Again, I did not say anything about any damages being covered under warranty.

I am driving the truck and am encountering several issues to include but not limited:
-When turning and pulling out of a parking space, there is a loud audible grind occurring somewhere around the differential
-A noticeable hop and deflection between ***** mph similar to when a **** hog PTO is mis-aligned.
-When pulling up an incline into a parking area, once the front right tire went over the lip, the truck shifted from drive into neutral.

On Thursday May 30th, I texted ******* these items and let him know I have an appointment to have the truck inspected on Monday, June 1st. The technician requested I give them a contact from Anthonys Carwash.I let ******* know I would provide his contact information to the service department at *********. The ******** service technician recommended I continue to drive the truck and document any symptoms that would assist them in fully diagnosing any damage.

When I texted *******, His only response was, Its all warranty, right?. I did not respond as this falls into a category of questions I am not able to answer as this would be a decision for *********/** to determine. ******** Chevrolet Service Department will contact ******* with their findings.

      Sincerely,

       ***** ********

      Business Response

After reading ****** rejection of my response I have to say it was a little disappointing. ***** was super nice on the phone which made me feel comfortable having a normal conversation on the phone. Comfortable enough to where I felt good about having a little small talk with him. His response seems to be trying to use our friendly conversations against me which is fine. ***** has given my number to ********* if they want to reach out to me thats fine. I took it upon myself to talk with a current master tech at ********* and showed him what ***** is saying is wrong with his truck. The ********* Mechanic said that everything he is saying that is wrong has nothing to do with putting your car in park while moving. He also said, because in ****** text to me they want him to continue to drive the Truck before bringing it in that the reason they tell a customer that is because they either have no idea whats wrong or they werent able to find anything. His words not mine. He also said warranty is warranty and if something is wrong with ****** truck they will fix at NO cost which I would hope is everybodys goal in this matter. I look forward to hearing from *********.
