** is the listing agency for two properties my *********** tried to put in an offer for yesterday in ************, **. One property has been up for sale since the beginning of this month (our 2nd choice), the 1st choice had been up for sale for over 111 days. We let our realtor know and she talked with the agents from the office to schedule a viewing. We saw them yesterday, loved the 1st choice, put an offer in, only to be told later that the house has been under contingency since the day before, subsequently the same thing happened with the 2nd house on the same day. It's very disheartening to deal w/ this type of *************************** I totally understand about accepting back up offers, but going that route with a buyer who is ready 100% & pressed for time due to work, is very unthoughtful and unempathetic. It also shows a level of greed to a certain degree. My *********** live in ********; we work in the medical/first responders field & are a family of 6. So we're fairly busy. Us driving over 2hrs & 40mins to view/do everything only to be told immediately we wasted our time is stressful, esp w/ everything going on in the country now. Our realtor did her due diligence in calling prior to. We just want to be a part of the community of B-ham; because we do bring medical professional svcs, we have a child w/ glaucoma who is a reg pt @ UAB, & we want to raise our children in a happy environment. I hope this critique will help you all better prepare in the future. Thx for your time & for reading/listening! UPDATE: The sellers sold to a bank who probably will turn the house into a rental, an ******* or sell it for an astronomical *** smh... ppl wonder why the American real estate economy isn't doing well. The 1st choice for us sat on the market for 111 days before it showed being contingent in the **** Zillow, Trulia, etc. very disheartening & seems like red-lining was a factor allegedly. The neighborhood didn't seem to be very diverse so I'm not surprised.
