My dog was boarded at this facility and when i picked him up he was definitly not the same way i dropped him off . I contacted the facility to notifiy them of ****'s conditions and they gave me a few suggestion to try to help him feel better . However when those things didnt work i reached out to them again for more assitants with this issue but instead they then notified me they were not responsible for his health and that a wavier was signed . However Remy is not a pet he is an emotional support animal and does not fall withing the guidline of that contract anymore . I would like a representaive to reach out on my behalf to this facility in order to get compensation for another vet visit .

    Business Response

My company has over 50 five star reviews, so I was very stunned to read this complaint.

I kept ************************ dog, Remy, at my free roaming boarding facility from May *****. This is the second time that ******************* has used my facility. On May 25, ******************** sent me a message saying that she thinks that her dog may have contracted ****** cough. I explained to her that this can happen in this type of facility. It is just like a daycare for children. Dogs also get colds and cuts and scratches. I explained to the client that I did not have any other sick dogs at my facility. I also explained that we take all necessary precautions to keep anyone from getting sick. If we know there is a sick dog in our care, we immediately remove the dog from areas shared with other dogs and call the owner to pick up their dog. I have several clients who have had this experience with us and have had to show Vet notes in order for their dog to return to daycare/boarding. She told me that she would take him to the Vet because she was concerned. I asked her to keep me posted.

May 26, she tells me that the Vet says that he has kennel cough. She asked me about home remedies. I was puzzled as to why the doctor didn't prescribe anything if the dog is so sick. Nevertheless, I gave her a few different ideas of what to do and told her that it's basically a cold that dogs get from each other and my dogs have had it and it generally goes away on it's own. She said "thank you" and I never heard back until May 31.

May 31, she messages and tells me that he is her emotional support dog and she didn't think it was fair that she had to pay for the Vet. I asked for a Vet bill and she never supplied me with that. Instead she said that she was going to *** me. I was kind of baffled that in all the years I have done this, I've never been ***d because of an illness that is beyond my control and that I cannot even pinpoint where it came from. I also explained to the client that she signed a document and I have that document with her signature that says that we are not responsible for any sickness or accident that occurs while the dog is in our care.

Kennel cough is not a long term or dangerous illness. I understand that nobody wants to have a sick dog. I am sorry that this dog has been sick. However, we were not negligent in any way and we had multiple other dogs staying during this same time frame with not a single complaint.

I am happy to provide the signed contract and a copy of all messages.
