On December 29, 2023, my husband took my son to this store to purchase a knife. He had a $50 gift card. The purchase was well over the amount so I returned it. He said he had destroyed the gift card and could only refund the portion my husband paid, ONLY AFTER I HAD MY HUSBAND COME BSCK TO THE STORE. The man is named ***********************. He said he would not refund me. He was an arrogant jerk to me but nice to my husband.I dont go for this kind of stealing money from a child. He already got the $50 from the gift card that he destroyed. The purchase and refund were in minutes of each other. We had no option but to get another knife.

Im adding additional messages as I am sent them. I was told he was talking about me on a review. This man is very unprofessional. If he wishes to speak to me, he could simply reach out to this email address of mine, which I had not even left a review of his business on, nor has my husband. My husband even agreed how disrespectful the man was. I want to add something else as well. He had stated to me in a very condescending manner that had I come in as asked him for a refund, I would have gotten one; coming into his store and telling him he was going to refund the item, which was purchased in less than 10 minutes, didnt go in his book. Additionally, he decided to scold my teenage son, which I told him he was not going to get into my child whatsoever to which he said then Im not giving you a refund. When my husband arrived, he was nice to him which was odd to me and my son. My husband asked for advice on a different knife and he said he couldnt answer my husbands questions because I told him to not speak to our son. Just ***** and unnecessary behavior from a store owner.

    Business Response

On December 29th, The Complainant's son and her Husband (not her) came into my store to make a purchase. The husband and the son were bickering between each other about whether the husband was going to help the son with additional monies to make the purchase the young man wanted. They were here in the store arguing amongst themselves for almost half an hour. The husband saying several times that he spent over $3000 on the young man's Christmas, that he was totally over Christmas spending on him. The young man said to the husband "I'll just ask mom!" he walked away, making a phone call, or pretending to, I'm not exactly sure. He came back, told the husband and me that "*** said it was OK for (you) the Husband to help him with his purchase". The son and her husband made a decision on what to buy, and a purchase was made. The son gave me a $50 gift card to run and walked away. After I ran the card, I asked the husband whom I assumed was the father if he wanted the card back or did, he want me to shred it. He responded "Shred it, please. Thank You!" I did just that. The Husband then completed the purchase using his charge card for the remaining $63 and change. The Husband was extremely friendly, we exchanged pleasantries and they left.
About 1/2 hour to 45 min.later a lady, unknown to me, came into the store. As I had my back to the door, talking to another customer, I did not see her, but everyone in the store heard her in very, very loud and aggressive voice say. "I WANT MY MONEY BACK!!" I excused myself from my customer to attend this person (the complainant). I asked her "What seems to be the problem?". She replied still in a very agitated and loud voice something about her son and husband making a purchase that cost more than the gift card a family friend  gave him and that she wanted their money back!!! It was at this time I saw the son coming around the counter behind her. Now fully realizing what this woman was screaming about. I asked the son "Why did you lie to both your father and I? The woman interjected,at the top of her voice "You don't get to scold my child"!!!!!! to which I also at the top of my lungs replied, "You don't get to yell at me in my store, take it down a notch!". I then in as calm a voice as I could muster in the moment explained to her, I would have to refund the card I charged (her husband's) and that at his request the other card had been destroyed. but I would gladly let them exchange something else equal in value to his gift card.  As he was not present, the husband came down to the store and the $63 and change was refunded to his card. the young man picked out something else. My employee helped them check out, they left. I thought this was the end of it and everyone was satisfied. Then, later in the day ****** sent me a notification that "***** ***" had given me a one-star review. I read it, responded, also reported it to ******. They Removed her review and notified me that their removal of her review was due to "Hate speech". Once again, I thought we were done. Then I get this letter from you. My only regret, looking back is that while we were waiting for her husband to arrive, I did not call the police and have her trespassed from the property.
    Sincerely,

I am rejecting this response because: he is lying. I was the only female in the store at the time and he was very unprofessional. He said if I would have asked for a refund, I would have gotten one. Thats not business. I had the receipts and the transaction has just taken place. Additionally, he doesnt scold other peoples children as I previously stated. The BBB has a copy of your response to her, so they can see the kind of person you are. If the BBB will do a ****** search of this business, they will see additional complaints about this man.

He had a totally different attitude when my husband arrived. Also, the trespassing comment? What a joke. As far as a review, I left no review for him. Ill be glad to if I need to. The complaint stands. He needs a negative remark against his business.

    Sincerely,
