We hired ***** McDonald, McDonald Construction, LLC to replace barn doors during early April 2024. The work was to include replacing three wood doors (two swinging and on rolling) He was to pour concrete footing under barn poles on either side of the rolling door. Doors were to be hung and have all associated hardware installed for securing them in place. Old doors were to be disassembled for wood repurposing. the job was to cost $3000 for labor. We provided the materials. Work days were described as 8 hour days, which I assumed were workers onsite and working. At the end of day one, I was asked to write a check for that day so ***** could pay his help. That was $1000 even though the crew was only on site for 5 hours.Shortly after noon on day three we were asked for the rest of the money owed. ***** said they would be back the next day to finish up. We did go ahead and pay him, even though there was a lot left to do. soon after that he had his crew load up and move to start another job somewhere else. We have not seen him or his crew since that day.We ended up with concrete poured and three door frames build and hung. Three sheets of metal panels were installed on one of the swinging doors. The other two doors were left open with no way to close up the barn.***** was actually on site less than 8 hours and his two man crew&#**;s time on site was 17 hours. Of that 17 hours , actual time spent working was barely 14 hours. this is far less than the 24 hours that we expected to pay for. Work completed was about one half of what was originally agreed to.

8-5-2024 Mr. ****************** called BBB. He said he charged by the day, not by the hour. He did say he owes you a couple of hours labor for leaving early one day. He will pay you that money when he gets it. Right now he is getting his business going again since suffering from a heart attack and falling 20 feet.
