The date of the transaction was August 16, 2023.The amount of money I paid in advance was $3,400 (labor) and $7,000 (material). The business committed to constructing a 14x10 sitting room from an existing foyer area. This included framing, adding a wall, ceiling, double and single doors, six recess lights, one fan, a light switch, four pieces of crown molding, two pieces of baseboards, carpeting, and a wall panel. The nature of the dispute: the contractor did not provide qualified tradesmen, all construction was incomplete and defective, left my house and garage unclean and unsafe (drywall dust (in the air on every single item), dirt, paint on floors, staircase, railing, blinds, front door, nails driven into new doors, trash, empty paint cans, sawdust, stain cans. Also, hardwood floors were scratched from needing to be protected. After numerous attempts to contact the contractor (via text, phone calls, and mailed letters), he or his workers have yet to contact me since October 6, 2023.
