In January, my son was due to have his wisdom teeth removed. Prior to his surgery, I contacted North Alabama Oral and Facial Surgery to inquire about how much would the insurance pay vs. my portion. I stated I wanted to pay my porition prior to his surgery so I could charge it to my Care Credit card. The lady whom I spoke with determined my portion, which was $367. They billed me for this patient portion. At NO time did anyone say this was an estimate. She told me this was exactly what I owed the rest would be paid by my insurance, BCBS. I do not know if she called them to find out their portion or if she looked it up in a system, but I thought I was all good. After my son's surgery I received 2 bills from them. I just assumed it was an error and disregarded them since I knew I had been billed and paid what she quoted me.

As of recent *** Collection Center started calling my underage, minor son trying to bill him for $80. This week, he, my underaged minor son, received a collection notice in the mail. This collection firm is in violation of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. This third party was given my child's personal information by North Alabama Oral and Facial Surgery. So, this debt collector has been disclosing information associated with this debt to my minor child about money owed and the amount of the debt causing him stress. This violated teh FDCPA regulations. They called my son's cell phone also, not our home phone. They had both of our phone numbers, but they gave my son's personal infomration to this collection company.

In addition,Kathy tried to state that we must have gone over our limit and that's why there is an $80 balance. When I called BCBS, they said we have NOT gone over our limit, and my son still have $72.20 left in benefits. Now, they are trying to come after me and my mionr son for additional money after I already paid what they told me to pay in January before his surgery.
