I visited *****'s in ********, ** for the first time today. I doubt I will ever be back. While waiting in line to check out, the associate asked the customer in front of me if they had an ******* card, they said no and she turned to another associate and asked for a phone number. The associate gave a number and in turn the one ringing up purchases put that number in. They didn't ask the customer if they would like to sign up, just used another associate's number. When it was my turn, she asked if I had a card and I said no. She didn't ask if I wanted one, just turned to the other associate again and asked for a number. She put that number in and rung up my items. I found it odd that they weren't even asking customers if they would like to join - only adding their own numbers to gain points. I picked up an ******* card and mentioned signing up but the lady ignored me. After paying for my purchase, I decided it was time to confront this associate. Find out why she wasn't asking for people to sign up, only using another employee's number. She told me it wasn't that big of a deal and rolled her eyes. Another associate was standing behind her with a cash drawer for that register. I am extremely disappointed in the actions of these employees and the fact that none of them even offered to make it right. Is this a standard practice of *****'s stores or just exceptionally bad customer service. The sales associate name on my receipt is **** and the Ollies Army # is ********. If I had stolen items from the store, I would have been arrested but the associates can steal from customers and that's just fine. Makes no sense to me and is a terrible way to handle a business.
