I have been charged by this business since August 2022 and was not aware of it. I want a refund from them for the entire period of August 2022 to now. They also told me they would send a cancelation confirmation to my email which I never received.Business Response

Records indicate that ************** did sign up for services on August ******************************** the area where she resides. Signup is a 4-page process that requires her date of birth, social security number, full credit card, and billing information as well as completing an identity verification with the credit bureau. Upon sign-up, ************** was sent a welcome email on August 24 at 5:26 pm to the same email address she provide to the Better Business Bureau, which ************** opened. Additionally, over the length of her membership, she was sent multiple emails indicating updates and changes to her credit reports or scores, the last of which she opened on February 24, 2023. ************** could have contacted ** at any point to request cancellation. However, ************** never contacted ** prior to June 1 when she requested her account be canceled. ****************** account was canceled at that time. We also sent ************** a cancellation email which she opened on June 7, 2023, at 7:00 pm. ************** has requested a refund, and even though she was not eligible for any refunds, a courtesy refund for three months of service was issued, however, only 1 month was processed as her financial institution rejected the other two, which was explained in an email to her. Any further refunds have to be made by check, and we were waiting for a response from ************** to confirm the mailing address. We will send out the refund to the address provided in the complaint. I was trying to get a loan one day and the app sent me to this site viewfreescore.com it asked for my debit card information, I thought it was for a deposit of my loan. I got charged 1 dollar then ***** a few days later. This company is a total scam and present themselves falsely online with all there different sites and what not. Firstly, we are not, nor have we ever been a loan company. ************** signed up for services on December 27 through our website which clearly states that we offer credit score and credit report services, and clearly and conspicuously states the cost for such services. ************** contacted customer service via the online chat option on April 15, prior to our receipt of this complaint. ************** requested his account be canceled during that chat, and his account was canceled at that time. ************** makes several defamatory and untrue statements in his complaints, but the records indicated that he not only signed up for services but he was also sent multiple email alerts and accessed his account several times up to and including April 15. ************** received services through April 15, however the last 2 months' fees did not successfully go through, even though his account was active and he was receiving monitoring services. As such ************** is not eligible for a refund. Due to the defamatory content of this complaint, we request this complaint be immediately closed and removed from public view.Customer Answer

I sign up for a $1 to get my free credit score. On that day I had notice they had charge me twice. I had called their customer service and ask why being charge twice and she replied one is for the score and the other was for membership. I said I did not signed up for membership and to cancel everything that open in my name. She said they had close everything and I will not be charged for anything. I also asked her to refund the 2 $1 charges but she didnt. A few days later they charged for a membership fee for $39,90. Bag fee had put my checking to a negative *****. I called them back and argue why am I being charged when everything was cancel and I had only signed up to get my score. I was angry and frustrated that I had cleared this up a few days ago and they still charge me. They had put it through that it was cancel again and still the money was not returned back to my bank. I called back again and said why are you taking a long time to refund back the money for my bank charge an overdraft fee of $50. Once they charge me you will owe me $89,50 including the bank fee. I did not authorize this charged. This is stealing. I am being written up by my bank when this company steal money from my account. I am filing this a complaint to let everyone knows they dont charge $1 to get your credit score they will try to overcharge and it will cost you $40,39 because they will charge your account without asking and that is wrong.Business Response

************** makes several claims which are untrue and defamatory. As ************** indicated she did in fact sign up for services and authorized the charges. ************** was not charged twice. She was charged $1 one time. After the 7 days, she was billed $39.90 on the 8th day for her monthly membership as agreed when she signed up. ************** called to cancel on 02/25/2023 and was canceled immediately. This was after she was already billed her first months fee. A courtesy refund was issued on 2/27/2023 which was prior to receipt of this complaint. We request the complaint be immediately closed. I was charged for credit report twice from company after I canceled my subscription which over drafted my bank account I called canceled and was promised a refund and have not received it upon calling back I was informed I was still a member after I was told it was canceled. ****************** signed up for a 7 day trial of services on January 21. At the end of the trial billing begins a monthly service fee if not cancelled during that time frame. ****************** contacted customer service to cancel his services on January 30, after he had already been billed the monthly fee. ********************** account was immediately cancelled that day. As ****************** had already paid for services his account was still accessible until the end of the month that he had paid for. ****************** contacted us again on February 10 and requested a refund, and even though he did sign up, and didn't cancel during his trial period and was not eligible for a refund, a courtesy refund was issued. I requested a refund from this business in December and they claimed that my refund was processed on January 6th. And that it would take ***** days to receive it. And that I should of got a email that the refund was processed. Records incicate that the check was processed December 15th, however ************** claimed he did not receive it. ************** has been issued a replacement check. I paid for a membership with checkfreescore.com to check all three credit bureau scores, however, they will not show the credit scores at all. I was on the website one time and I had to give info for $1 charge. They ended up charging me $39.90 and I never used the service BECAUSE IT WOULD NOT DO WHAT THEY ADVERTISED IT WOULD DO. I was charged the $39.90 today and I want a full refund. I've called the company 4 times with no success. The membership is canceled however, I never used it and NEVER RECEIVED WHAT I PAID FOR. We understand that ****************** signed up for credit monitoring services, which included access to her 3 credit reports. We also understand that when she accessed the portal, the credit report was inaccessible. Upon being notified on January 26, her account was immediately canceled and refunded. An email was sent that day confirming both the cancelation and the refund. The emails were sent to the same email address used on this BBB complaint. The cancelation, refund, and confirmation emails were all issued prior to receipt of this complaint. This site is an obvious phishing scam. I saw a charge on my bank statement from sgldscr for *****. I searched the phone number and I came up with the site. I went to the site and it said member log in. Out of curiosity, I clicked forgot password. The site immediately updated saying "Congratulations, your account is being automatically upgraded" then proceeded to update to another screen which was telling me to enter my email to receive a password reset link. This is trying to create a backdoor to make me create a password for my username. All sorts of issues could be presented to this, and technically speaking they aren't lying...by creating an account with a password, wouldn't I technically be upgraded? Maybe they want me to give a password because it can be misconstrued to say "See, you have a username and password, of course you signed up."I'm not really sure. Alternatively, the phone number ************ brings up the website, where it is specifically asking you to not contact your bank. "Please call us if you need to dispute the charge" but how am I supposed to do that without giving them my phone number?Business Response

************** makes many outlandish claims in her complaint, and we do take exception to the slanderous and libelous statements that she makes. Here are the facts. She signed up from an IP address in the same area she lives. She was required to provide her date of birth, social security number, full 16 digit credit card and billing info. She was required to confirm her identity with a third party credit bureau, which she successfully did. She successfully logged in on December 5th and remained log in form 10:19am until 11:02 am. ************** called customer service for the first time on December 13th at 7:40pm. She stated she got the number from her bank statement. After the call, at 8:39pm she requested a password reset. Her last login was that same day at 9:40pm.
On this call ************** stated said she did not remember signing up but she was not sure. She asked to be canceled. She was immediately canceled. A refund was issued the next day. We have no idea what she is talking about regarding phishing, backdoors, etc., or upgrading. She was already signed up for the full service at $39.90. Due to the fact that ************** did indeed sign up, admitted to receiving the welcome email, was canceled and refunded when requested, and now makes false and defamatory statements, we request this complaint be immediately closed and removed from our listing.Initial Complaint

Joined to get my credit scores. Billed twice. I want to cancel my membership but none of the phone numbers given work. Even the one on this page. There is no reference to canceling in my member account. I don't want any refund, just to get the account canceled and closed. Allegedly I subscribed to this credit monitoring service on Feb. 22, 2022 and IF I did, I can most certainly attest that it was for the trial period ONLY. Further, according to the company representative that I spoke with today, Aug 3, stated the company would like to be paid for services rendered. Until today, I had not logged onto the account or received any type of benefit or service. So, therefore, the company has taken money from me and has not provided any type of service.
Representative also stated that an email had been sent to the address on file confirming charges, of which I never received or opened. Probably because the computer realized that the company was an absolute scam and sent the email to the junk folder.
Thoroughly communicated that I wanted this service cancelled immediately and that I would like a refund for March - August ($******* of which he flatly refused even though I asked again to provide evidence of services rendered. I asked for the current charges of $***** that were billed to my account August 3 that covers the service period from August 3-September 2. Representative said that IF the refund was approved I would receive an email in 2 DAYS.
I asked again for a full refund or a partial refund of half of the charges incurred ($******), of which he refused.
Once I logged onto the BBB I noticed several complaints for the same issue(s)... charging for services that are not provided or clearly explained.
Given the number of complaints, please help stop this company from continuing to take advantage of people.

We are in receipt of Mr. *****'s complaint. It was Mrs. ***** who actually called into customer service on August 3rd, not Mr. *****. Mr. ***** signed up for services on February 22 from an IP address in **** ********, the same state in which he lives. During that sign up process Mr. ***** agreed to the offer terms that were clearly and conspicuously posted in multiple places on the website, including directly above the submit button. The offer terms clearly stated that after the trial, the credit monitoring membership will continue for $***** on a monthly basis until canceled, and provided a toll-free number to cancel as well as an online option. The offer terms, including the trial and cancellation information were also sent via email immediately after sign up. Credit monitoring services began the day Mr. ***** signed up. An alert was sent in February and another in March indicating changes to his credit profile. When Mrs. ***** called in August 3rd, the account was canceled and several courtesy refunds were issued. Mrs. ***** made defamatory statements and claims in this complaint and also threatened on the call to post all over social media if she did not get a refund. That's called extortion. Mr. and Mrs. ***** were not entitled to a refund, and further don't deserve one based on their conduct and their defamatory statements. However, an additional refund has been issued. We request the complaint be immediately redacted of the false and defamatory content, or removed from public viewing.
