We hired Alabama Moving Company to move us from ********, Alabama to ********, ***********. The move took place on 1/27/2023. Originally, we planned to move the entire contents of our house, but then cut 1/3 to 1/2 of it out because the buyer of our house purchased a lot of our things. I called for a price adjustment and ******* came to discuss. She was adamant about keeping the price the same. She said they still needed the two trucks and she figured four days for the move. She said she calculated $620/day and that if it took less time wed get a refund. They showed up on time with two employees and two men from the halfway house who had never worked for them before. They loaded up our things and drove to ******** the first day. The second day they unloaded and headed back to Alabama. Therefore it took them 2 days to complete the move. After they left, we noticed several gashes in the walls and there was minor damage to several of our things. Also, we overpaid by about $50 by mistake and they havent returned the money. I called ******* to discuss and she preceded to argue with me. I sent her several pictures of the damage and had to threaten a bad ****** review before she offered a $700 refund. She assured me that a check would be in the mail. After not receiving it I sent her a message asking if the check had been mailed. She read my message almost immediately but never responded. The next day I wrote to her again asking for an answer and she ignored me a second time. We paid them $1000 in cash and $7000 cashiers check. She told me over the phone that it was $8000 but when she sent the receipt the bill was about $50 less. Not only was she extremely rude throughout our conversations, she lied to me about several things. She said they had insurance to cover any damages that occur and that they hired only professional movers. During the move, the two halfway house guys told me this was the first time theyd worked for this company. Id like the $700 back.
