      On May 22 2024 I paid ***** **** $1000 down payment to install a convertable top skin on my 1961 Thunderbird. I delivered the car around June 22 with all brand new parts necessary to complete the job. ***** told me at that time it would take ten days to two weeks to complete. After three weeks I called and he said about another week. This excuse continued into October when he started telling me "tomorrow" every time I called. After telling me the car would definately be ready on Friday Oct 11, he failed to deliver once again. I went to pick up my car and get a refund. When it came to the money he told me he did not have it, that he had spent my money. I called Pelham police and with their presence managed to get $450 back. I'm still $550 short and lost five months of my time.

      The owner of this shop (****) basically stole over $700 from me. Me being a woman and not knowing anything about tops on cars he played me for everything he could. I first took my car to him on January 30, 2024. When I took my car to him, the only thing I needed was for him to fix my top, so that it will go up and down. He stated that he can do that with no problem. while I was there, he started looking over my top to see why it wasnt going up and down and his solution was I needed a new switch which he said he had and we charge me $40 for it. so he said he would charge me 140 for labor and $40 for the part which came out to around 180 something but I just gave him $200 flat because I didnt have any change and when I finish with my car. I will give me my change from that, I left my car with him and the next day he called me and told me that he had it fixed but it was another part that I would need which would be a motor for my top. I asked him how much would that be and he told me 325 not including labor because I already pay him for labor that was just for the part. Mind you I live almost a hour away and he stated that he could not start putting the motor on my car until I came and pay him the money. I told him that I was busy at the time if he could start on my car and when I was finished doing what I was doing my kids I will come down there and pay him and get my car. he called me and told me that he was finished with my car and my top was going up and down like it should. I went to the shop to get my car. when I arrived at his shop, I paid him the 325 and I went to check to see if my top was laying up and down and it wasnt. I stated to him that I thought he had fixed it and he said that it was a couple things that he had to do to it. The only reason I believe he told me it was fixed because he wanted me to come down to give him that money. basically I paid out over $700 to this guy to fix my top and its in the same condition as it was in when I brought it to him. He even demanded $200 from me for nothing or he wouldnt give me my car back. He truly rolled off on me as a person who is addicted to drugs, and will do I say anything to get money to get what he needs.
