I called Sanders Heating and air in Phenix city, Al. The service man's first name was Richard. He came out and determined the problem. Later that day, he called and told me it would cost $562.00 for my furnace repair. I agreed. I had already ordered a control circuit board for my furnace. It cost $144.00 plus shipping and taxes, $160.00. He gave me piece of paper with the total amount of $562.00. I asked him politely to itemize the bill. I wanted to know my exact charges for labor and parts. He got a little upset. First I told him I had 30 days by law to pay a proper bill. He got angry. He insinuated he could take his part and leave if I did not pay the bill immediately. I payed the bill. The itemized bill listed the part for $338.00 plus $224.00 labor. I am not complaining about the labor fee. He did make two trips. The part he installed came from the same people that I bought one from. The seperate boxes are exactly the same. I can understand a 40 to45% over head. He charged me a lot more. So if he got his from the same place I bought one, then he only paid $144. The same I did. Like I said, the boxes the parts came in were exactly the same.

False statement about me getting angry,I did not say i would take the part out. As he said he agreed to the price i gave him. He should have told me he was getting it on line. before i came out and put it in. I called before i came there. I dont compete against the internet. They dont come out diagnose, install parts & warranty parts, Cant do nothing now Having to deal with Ala consumer interest board on this

At the time he called and told me the price, I agreed. I had no idea at that time what the part cost. I looked up the part on Amazon after the agreement to fix my furnace. The part I ordered came in the very next day.

The fact is, I ordered the part after I had agreed on the cost. I have been a customer for several years and he always charged what I considered fair prices. He seemed to be aggravated when he asked if I was going to keep the old part. I used the info on the old part to compare with what I had ordered. I would like to get back at least $100.00.. Then he would get $238.00 for the part, which I think is fair when you know how much it did cost.
