    On 11/21/2023, I placed a wedding set and band on layaway totaling $4609.87. I put down $1200.00. At the time my assistant, ***************, stated they don't size the ring until pickup incase I decided to cancel and get my money back. I thought about this transaction because I thought I could have gotten a better discount. On 11/24/2023, I went back to the store and asked, ***************, if they were participating in Black Friday sales. She stated they were not. I then told her to cancel layaway. She was about to but stated she had to go ask her manager about how to proceed with the cancellation. She came back and then told me that it would have to be a store credit. I reminded her she told me on date of purchase that I could get my money back. She then pointed out on the receipt that it says store credit, but I had not signed that copy. I was pretty put off by the lie she told me and the eerie quietness of the other employees. I selected a necklace and bracelet to not have to come back to that store. I went to a competitor and told them of this experience and they were astound. They stated it was unfair, BS, and not right. Someone else may not be in a position as I was to just let the money stay in store. I feel I was treated unfair because of my race. When three to four other people working in the same profession as Bryan, are shocked as to what happened and of the same race, their was a disparity in treatment.
