The shop owner ********* took in my diesel **** F250 he stated he was a certified diesel mechanic. He was to replace valve cover gaskets and repair a part on the turbo. I got my truck back without power steering fluid, also it was putting white smoke out of exhaust. The next morning it broke down and never started up again! I got it back to him and he kept saying he didn't know what was wrong! I finally took the truck back from his shop and got to another diesel mechanic. He said A&S broke a part on the manifold, over primed the truck causing a hole in the #1 piston also making the truck lose compression. The final diagnosis is A&S ruined my engine/ also that a new engine for over $12k is needed but impossible to find! A&S blames the car lot I bought it from! I had the truck checked by a mechanic on the same week of purchase! Now I still owe $13,300.00 on my truck that's useless after this shop destroyed my truck!

*************** to complaint #******** made against A&S Auto Repair & Tire Shop by **************************************.
    Vehicle: 2008 **** F250
    Mileage: 231076

******************* and her husband ***************************** brought her 2008 **** F250 truck into our shop because of an oil leak. After checking the truck, I discovered someone had plugged the engine breather. This caused too much pressure in the engine, resulting in an oil leak on the left valve cover gasket.
I also discovered this vehicle did not have an emissions system. The engine had been modified by the removal of the *** Filter and the *** Valve. ***, (Diesel Particulate Filter), filters are responsible for trapping accumulated diesel soot and other particulates emitted by the diesel engines. Without the *** filter in place, diesel engines accumulated soot and other particulates can build up on engine components and cause excessive wear to the vehicle. This can lead to serious engine problems.
The *** valve ************ Recirculation) which is located on the intake manifold of an engine, is an emission control device which helps maintain the combustion chamber temperature in an effort to reduce the formation of nitrogen oxides. Without this part, this too would cause damage to the engine. I also discovered that the exhaust pressure sensor had been removed and welded shut.
I advised ****************** of the issues and he expressed no interest in repairing it, stating it would cost too much money.

The only repairs I performed on this vehicle addressed the oil leak, which is exactly what she asked for. I installed a brand-new breather hose, valve cover gasket and a turbo oil line gasket. All the issue ******************* claims my shop caused to her truck is what happens to a diesel engine when the emissions system is removed/modified and does not happen in the short amount of time shes claiming. I am in fact a certified diesel technician.
