I rented a storage unit from this business for only a couple of days and then went back to access it and the garage door was stuck shut along with the lock. I had to have 2 deputies come and help me because no locksmith would help. We finally got it open and the company said they would give me a refund for approximately $95 (*****, the manager) said this, but a **** told me it would take 30 days to get the refund which would have been past the time to dispute the refund. The deputies told me to leave the lock off since I think someone put WD40 on the lock making it malfunction. I think someone put their things in my unit because I got an email from them indicating this. I want a full refund, which they charged me approximately $130. I disputed the transaction with my bank and they took back the money. I displeased with the bank and Midgard Self Storage and I want a full refund. It also looked like there was roof damage and possibly a leaky roof in that unit prior to me moving into that unit and I feel like they purposely gave me that unit.

At Midgard Self Storage, we take pride in providing our customers with the best possible experience and we attempt to be flexible with them in any way that is feasible for our business. Such was the case in this instance. When this customer reached out to us seeking to break her lease contract and vacate early, we went out of our way to help her even though we ordinarily require a 30-day vacate notice.

We waived the 30-day vacate notice, prorated the rent, and refunded the unused rent in an effort to assist the customer. Instead of acknowledging that we chose not to hold her to the lease agreement that she signed and charge her the full amount of what we were owed, she began complaining that she wanted a larger refund. She also began making a variety of random and unverifiable claims against us to support her argument for a larger refund.

While this BBB complaint was levied as an example of failure to provide excellent customer service on our part, it, in fact, proves the opposite. It demonstrates our actions in voiding a contract and deciding not to charge the full amount we were lawfully allowed to in order to help a customer. We have gone above and beyond to assist this customer when we were under no obligation to do so, and there is no further action we feel is necessary.

    Thanks,
