  The first restoration ******* was a poor communicator and seemed to be learning on the job. He did not communicate for several days and was eventually replaced. The second ******* spent a lot of time apologizing that he was getting up to speed on the job and did not deliver a quality job. Our replaced and restained floors have gouges and exposed nailheads that North Alabama will not repair. We have requested floor correction numerous times. These were covered with putty that the flooring contractor apparently attempted to hide. Covers on outlets/plugs were not installed. Overall, very frustrating, unsatisfactory communication and quality work by North Alabama.

  In order to replace the floor everything needed to be boxed up and moved out. We wanted to do the packing ourselves for several reasons. We requested an estimate without the packing costs. North Alabama Restoration refused to provide an estimate without them charging us for the packing. However, they said they would compensate us for our work. The estimate they provided, with few exceptions, broke out what they were charging us to do the packing work. Note: we did the packing work, not them.When the work on the floor was completed the craftsmen had done excellent work. However, the compensation NAR provided was less than half of what was listed in the estimate! I complained but was told if I did not pay up that day, they would put a lean on my house. When I said I would write a complaint to the Better Business Bureau, they threatened to *** us. We felt bullied into accepting their terms.

  This is the second home restoration company we have dealt with. They are OUTSTANDING!!! This company is just superlative. I'm retired military with 29 years in uniform. I have experience running major projects and found that this company is extremely organized and effective. First, the estimates were extremely detailed. I am very impressed with the objective times, materials, and other resources contained in the estimates. *********** used this list to complete all tasks. to standards. ON TIME: *********** showed-up on time! This month-long process required a variety of different crews to show-up. We always got an email heads-up which helped ** plan. Everyone from the company president to the lowest worker were exceedingly polite, courteous, and very helpful. The paint team was just so good that we are hiring them to finish the rest of our house when we move in a few months. I taught a graduate college course on leadership so I am always interested in how the subordinates feel about working for this company. I heard nothing but positive comments. The common theme is of high expectations of quality work by the president and the fact the workers feel appreciated and taken care-of is an indication of a high-performing organization. My wife and I feel like North Alabama Restorations treated us like we were family and cared about the quality of their work. I highly recommend this company if you want a quality job done in a very professional manner.
