I am rejecting this response because:

I appreciate Elkmont Mini Storage responding to my complaint finally. I called them numerous times explaining that I realized they were located in ******** and wanted them to know that the property was not being taken care of. First, I tried to resolve this by telling numerous people at their company that the grass was very tall, a chest of drawers was located in the aisle of where our unit was located, furniture was piled next to the dumpster they had at the entrance of the storage units, etc. I asked to speak to managers multiple times and was told that I would be called back. When I did not get a return call from a manager, then I would call them back only to be told that the managers were in a meeting. They must have lots of meetings there because two days in a roll I was told the managers could not talk to me because they were in meetings. If the company wants to verify what I am saying I wish they would read any documentation that was taken each time that I called or better yet, if my calls were recorded they could listen to them. Once, and only once, I was put through to someone that told me he was a manager. I explained it all to the person and asked if there was any way that I could use their dumpster at the front entrance due to the neglect of the property that was causing us to move to another storage unit company. I was told that I could not use the dumpster. I explained why I was having to move etc but to this day no one from the company has called me back to explain what they just explained to the BBB. If only someone had cared enough to call me but that did not happen. My husband and I felt neglected as their customers. They mentioned they are a property management company. If I was a manager at a property management company out of state from where the property was located and I had gotten multiple complaints from a customer explaining the poor conditions of the area then I would call the person back to head off any further complaints. I would pick up the phone and call the customer who is paying money each month and try to figure out what the customer was seeing on the ground at the location while my company is located in ********. That is just good customer service and I feel this company lacks that as well. I am curious though. They manage this property for an owner. I wonder if the owner realizes what condition his place is in. Just saying I have wondered that. Second, since I tried multiple times to communicate with a business that did not want to hear me, I feel that we should be reimbursed for our time, calling and explaining the poor conditions to multiple people at Elkmont Mini Storage was stressful and exhausting, for feeling neglected as a paying customer, and for the expenses of relocating due to poor property management of this company which is kinda ironic that a property management company would manage property poorly. Finally, we are very responsible people and we want to be fair about this as well. The units have been neglected for months. We are asking to be reimbursed a total of $236.00 dollars ($59.00 x 4). If it was something simple I would have written a short response. As always, I have tried to explain this in great detail as I did each time that I called Elkmont Mini Storage. We look forward to hearing from them again to see if they would like to refund us $236.00 dollars. If that is not reasonable, please ask Elkmont Mini Storage what they feel is reasonable and what they think is the fair thing to do at this point. I know they replied that they have now taken steps to properly maintain the property now but it is too late for us. We look foward to hearing from Elkmont Mini Storage. Thanks so much.

      Sincerely,

      *********************

tall grass, furniture sitting in the pathway of units, etc. I told them that I thought that was a fair request due to having to move because of their neglect of the storage unit property. I was told the dumpster could only be used by their maintenance people and I was emailed a check list of what I must follow in order to not be charged money for clean up after I leave the unit. I found that hilarious that they have guidelines for me to follow in order to clean out my unit when they are not cleaning up the storage unit grounds at all but expect me to continue paying my unit fees. I am not late on paying my bills to the unit as it is on an automatic bank draft out of my checking account. They get their money each month on time and I get a very unclean place to store my items. If I can't use the dumpster, I think they shouldn't be charging me rent these last few months due to the bad conditions. Can I email more pictures? It won't allow me to load them all.

      Business Response

      Date: 07/11/2023

I apologize for any problems that we have been having at this facility. We are a remote management company operating out of ********. We rely on our maintenance person on the ground at the location to handle any issues that *** arise. Unfortunately, our last person was not fulfilling their obligations. We have since replaced that person and also contracted with a lawn care company to ensure that the grounds are well maintained and we are continually seeking to improve the grounds as best we can.
