I had a mortgage with AmeriFirst since 2008 and have always made my payments regularly. Never missed a single payment. I was not in default. Suddenly I find that AmeriFirst has transferred or sold my mortgage to a collection agency!!!!! You can imagine what this has done to my credit rating. How is this even legal?I see that AmeriFirst has gone into bankruptcy. Is this how they hope to get back on their feet? Have they done this to other customers as well? Many questions. No answers. How can I wind ** in collections when I never missed a single payment over the entire course of the loan? I don't expect to have any satisfaction from this complaint. I only want to warn others to stay far away from AmeriFirst if this loser company ever gets back on its feet and starts lending money again.

Dealt with vice president and loan officer *************************** at the Amerifirst branch location in ********. Over the course of two days and expressing heavily I needed a car loan due to the fact I did not have a vehicle. Completed all the tasks the loan officer initiated via email under the impression she regarded my lack of transportation; but I was then forced to use Lyft (a $97 trip) to drive 56 miles to fill out hard copy documents that could have been signed ******** or fax. Once there and got the cashiers check, I was told that if the car was not something I wanted I could use the check to purchase any vehicle using the cashiers check. Once there, the car was indeed sold before I got there and once I reported this ****** canceled the check and then proceeded to haggle me to drive the same distance again to return the check instead of offering to let me mail it back. Again, I do not have a car and once I restated this, she promised, while on speaker with the lot dealer that a lesser check would be drawn up and that I could complete the sale of getting a car only if they allowed me to drive a vehicle they owned off the lot to make the trip. Once there at the location ****** had called the police and used there presence as a way to take the cashiers check and proceeded to blame me for a misunderstanding of the situation. Due to the polices presence and fear that by addressing the many falsities she stated during our interactions I left without truly expressing my dissatisfaction. A day later I reported the incident with the main office and spoke with the senior executive vice president ********************** who sarcastically took my concern and made light of the situation, giving excuses for ******* behavior ( she was having a bad day) and even made suggestions that I give him information on how to deal with the incident and how to go about addressing his employee, as if they didnt have bank/business protocols in place for employee misconduct.
