Customer originally called to get a quote on moving & setting up home. Quote was given over the phone along with letting them know pricing was subject to change upon site inspections. They then asked for a pull & drop quote because they were looking for the cheapest price possible. They paid the required deposit amount to proceed with getting on the schedule and having site inspections done. They also had a time frame to get the home moved so we worked them in the schedule to get it done for them. They needed tires/axles for the move which already needed to be installed on the home for the type of moving service they were requesting. They did not have the tires/axles nor did they have the money to purchase them so we chose to help them out and let them rent some which we don't typically do. The agreement was they would return them for half of their rental money back once they got the home set up. Customer called other movers to get pricing for set up and was quoted around $5,000. They then called us for pricing to do the set up which we told them we wouldn't be responsible for set up of that home so he asked if we could come raise the home for them and he would have himself, his father-n-law and other people there to set up the home but all he had was $3,000 could we help him. We sent a couple of guys and equipment over there on a Saturday to help them out with the understanding that we were only raising the home. There was no agreement between D&S and Mr. S***** that D&S would set up the home. Now the home is not passing flood certification inspection due to them not doing their own set up correctly so they are slandering us on social media. It is just sad that people don’t take responsibility for their own actions and try to place blame on others who were just trying to help.
