Worst store experience ever followed by the worst customer service experience ever. The way I have been both bullied and ignored explains why I strongly recommend no one take their vehicle to a WalMart even for their most basic needs and why WalMart has lost a customer for life. I took my primary vehicle into store #802 for a basic oil change in order to comply with my newly-obtained engine warranty. A poorly-trained employee negligently broke off a 15" section of suction hose and it dropped deep into the engine. About 1.5 hours later, WalMart first informed me of this, and asked which towing company I wanted to hire to tow it to wherever I was going to pay for the repair(s) .Due to the lateness of the hour and the busyness of the Chevrolet dealership, I was without my primary vehicle for the next 13 days (and also made late for work, where I was the supervisor for 30 people).
We all knew at the time that the engine repair could not even be started in that first week due to the repair facilty's busy schedule. However, after the first few days of Claim #******* I was being bullied/pressured to close the claim based only on a repair estimate and 7 days "loss of use". WalMart Claims Service kept ignoring me and the most basic facts of the claim and pressured me to accept their offer and close out the claim. Meanwhile, no one knew how much damage had in fact been done by the melted plastic falling into the engine or how long I would be without my primary vehicle. The initial repair, as well as any further repair clearly voided my newly-obtained engine warranty. Multiple calls to the Claims rep went unheeded. I ended up paying for all of the repairs myself and finally got my primary vehicle back 13 days after taking it into WalMart.. Since then, they've refused to budge on their original bullying offer to close the claim based on their negligence and completely unrealistic original estimate and continue to ignore me, forcing me to soon file this in Court.Initial Complaint

I took my vehicle to get a new battery on 7/3/24. I know it needed a new battery because I previously went to auto zone and got it tested. A team lead from Walmart who is not a certified technician put a new battery in my vehicle and he put it on backwards. And he blew some fuses in my vehicle. The entire process was tiring. He was looking for a tool for at least 45 minutes just to take my battery out, he sent me and my mom to an auto store store to buy a new terminal out of our own pockets (the tool that holds the battery down). Sparks flew when he installed it and when they figured out that it was in there wrong, they tried to turn the car back on but now it doesn’t crank at all. They admitted fault and ordered a new fuse without Even inspecting what else could be wrong. For a few days they kept saying a part was coming in for my vehicle and it hadn’t came. Then i found out that they towed my car to Raffield (an auto shop) to be inspected AFTER they ordered parts. So on 7/11/24, i filed a claim through their insurance. I still have no rental or any reimbursement from the battery i bought. No compensation and i haven’t been assisted at all. Every time i call, I’m given the runaround. The adjuster, ***** **** does not answer his phone or emails. Their claims department will have you on hold for hours before anyone answers literally. So with that being said, I reported them to the insurance commissioner and anyone else having an issue should do the same because this is ridiculous and unacceptable. I also will make my incident go viral if I don’t receive any help. Because having someone work on my vehicle who is not a certified technician, is crazy and NEGLIGENT!Initial Complaint

Took my 2012 Volvo to Walmart, **** Dillion Dr. ****** 81008 to have battery replacement. Mechanic pulled my car in and replaced battery with new one. After it was installed car would not start and ignition will not turn off, which I told mechanic. They were closing so got a ride home coming back next morning. When I got there next morning, mechanic went to pull car out and comes tell's me the car do anything. I replied the battery is dead I told you last night ignition won't turn off. They charged the new battery. My car still wouldn't start. Motor not turning over. So I ask what do we going to do about this not getting mechanics reply. He then offered to pay for towing my car home. Mechanic paid truck driver $65.00 cash. I rode home with driver and my car. Next morning I filed a complaint with Walmart. I then got a complaint # ******** on 7/17/2024 since that day spent 5 hours on eternal hold. Left several messages with no reply. Both my wife I are on SSDI and medical issues. We need this car at our disposal. All I want to know from Walmart what are you going to do about this? I feel they are ignoring ignoring my calls and messages. My car was in perfect condition when I handled over my keys.I want my car repaired and some kind of compensation for the incompetance and inconvenience. I would appreciate some help from you.Initial Complaint

The date of incident 9/22/23 @ 4:30pm. Called Walmart prior to incident to make sure they could change my oil. The associate said yes so, we took our vehicle in to be serviced, and again we told the associate Year, Make, and model of vehicle. They put car on lift, emptied all of the oil and then tried to remove oil filter without proper tools. They then notified us that they couldnt change filter and replaced the oil without changing filter. We left store and 20 minutes later our car started making a weird noise. Husband pulled over and looked under the car to discover a bunch of oil was leaking and coating the bottom of car. We called Walmart to report the incident and was told to file a claim. We filed a claim with Walmart, and they asked for pictures and statement from a certified mechanic stating that Walmart was at fault. We sent pictures and spoke with a mechanic and now our claims adjuster will not return calls or emails. I need my vehicle fixed before it causes more damage. I have called hundreds of times and left messages, and I have emailed and haven't received a response. Now today when i call and put in the extension of the Walmart claims adjuster and it says it not a working extension. This is ridiculous and Walmart should be ashamed of themselves.Customer Answer

My husband took his car to Walmart for an oil change. The tech drained the transmission fluid and filled the oil reservoir with an extra 6 quarts of oil. We filed a claim with CMI to get back the money we had to pay to get our car fixed. We have been ghosted since.Customer Answer

On August 10, Walmart delivered a package to my property. After completing the delivery and snapping a picture, the driver mistakenly drove their vehicle into the garage door of my home, causing severe damage. Then that driver left the scene.
I have spent hours trying to speak with someone at Walmart who can help in identifying the driver for my police report, and to assist with reimbursement for the damages. Instead, I have been told dozens of times to refer to a different department (many of which I have already spoken with), or that they cannot help me.
Liability still remains with the company employing the driver.Customer Answer

Our vehicle went in to Wal-Mart in Cartersville, GA for a oil change January 2023. They didn't tighten the oil filter and cause a catastrophic failure and needs a new engine. Of course Wal-Mart claims adjuster ******* ***** ******* gives nothing but the run around. The Ford dealership gave an estimate of 10,000 and he said to high and they would total the car. There guy goes out to apprise and say it can be fixed for 4000.00. We had to other shops give estimates and the low one was 7500.00. They decided to take that one and I had to remind them the is a diagnostic fee for the Ford dealership and the cost to move the car back to Florida for the repairs with a cost of 1300.00. And of course the claims adjuster *****.*******@walmart.com is ghosting us. Email after email and nothing but tumbleweeds and crickets. If you call you will an answering machine. I've asked for the managers contact info and get nothing. If you call and try to get someone else your on hold for hours. What can we do to get them to pay our claim.Initial Complaint

In January of 2023 I took my 2012 Chevy Malibu in for an oil change. I noticed on the way home my warning light was on. I had to wait til the next day to return it. Before returning it I checked dipstick. No oil was on it. I confronted the mechanic who became enraged that I would question him about the work the New Boston Auto Center performed on my car. He said they had forgotten to reset it was the only problem. Then on March 10,2023 my car stalled and died on the highway. A state trooper helped me to push it into the gas station. A young man got it started for me and discovered no oil in the car. The engine was knocking. My motor is trashed due to engine lock up from no oil in the car thanks to Walmart. I filed a claim and had a certified mechanic inspect it. He agreed Walmart tore up my car. **** ******* will not return my phone calls or emails. I want Walmart to pay me for the engine and labor to fix.
