On 7/9/2024 I picked up my wifes 2020 Ford Explore ST which they just did a brake job on. The cost of the repair was $557.84 which was PAID IN CASH. On the outside of their door and also posted by they cash register in service was a notice which read, Credit Card transactions will have a 4% fee added to them. Below that it stated that for CASH they would discount you 4%. I was told by Colt the 4% was automatic if I used a credit card BUT I DID NOT GETa 4% discount for cash as the discount was not charged if cash was paid???? Per ******* **** (managing partner) at their Harrison, AR location the information from Colt was wrong. He said, " the total of your invoice already has the 4% added and if your pay cash you do get a 4% discount and that Colt was wrong in what he told me". Well, no where on my invoice is that information noted and had I paid via credit card I would have been charged the 4% again since per ******* **** the 4% was added to my original quote. ******* **** offered to send me a check for the 4% discount WHICH I SHOULD HAVE RECEIVED when I paid cash but I declined. ******* **** indicated to me the reason for the 4% added credit card fee was because the Credit Card Industry is out of control. Yet a minute later when I told him that fee is NOT SUPPORTED by the Credit Card Industry he told me they did their due deligence and yes indeed the fee is supported by the Credit Card industry.........kind of an OXYMORON based what he said earlier. Bottom line is **** ***** in Berryville,AR has lost my business forever and people need to open their eyes to these BOGUS Charges being added to your bills.

      Business Response

      Date: 07/23/2024

******* **** was mistaken in his response to *** ********** * *** **** is no longer with our company. The Service invoices do NOT have the additional Credit Card Charges added in to the repair orders in advance. That 4% fee is added IF the customers pay using a credit card. The signage has been removed just to save any confusion in the future. It was meant to say that you would be saving the 4% by paying with cash or check - not that you would save an additional 4%. We are sorry for any confusion that this may have caused.
