    June 25th
    The Event Center owned by ***** ********** 
    We rented ******* Event Center, the building that was being advertised for $50 per hour, 4 hour minimum included 2 rooms, outside area, game room. Plenty of parking. We also paid an additional $20 for a balloon swag.
    We paid the invoice June 25th, via invoice.
    We tried to view the venue before hand but ***** was pretty busy setting up her venue, as she was new to hosting, which was completely fine! We were able to pick the day that fit her schedule best, and all was well. ***** was a nice lady.
    Fast forward to August 4th we got a message from ***** saying they have had to down size due to too much overhead, which the new venue across the road seated 40, one room. We had originally guessed 20-40 showing up, so wasn’t entirely too much of a set back but with it being such a close change to the date of the shower we were okay with it.
    August 8th, I get a message that ******* Venue AC had gone out, and it was 85 degrees, and an ac company couldn’t come til the following Monday! So we were in crunch time as 2 days before the venue. ***** could not immediately refund us the $270 due to have to “request” a refund that would take 30 days. So now we are left without a venue, plus the funds to rent another venue, leaving everyone out more money, and scrambling around. This is not to bash a new business owner, but to give awareness. I don’t feel it was fair to not be refunded immediately due to their AC going out 2 days before an event. The refund has taken more than 30 days as well, to say the least…we were not pleased with our booking, much less will we do work with her again. Before renting, view the venue first, check their refund policy as getting a refund has been such a hassle.
    The refund should’ve been received by September 9th, ***** has now claimed her mom passing that she will handle when she gets back in a week or her assistant.
