I took my ** all in one desktop into digital Java to have the powerport replaced on the back of the computer. It has been almost 3 months and I still do not have my computer back and there is a very serious lack of communication going on. Supposedly a couple of new problems have been detected but yet the only way I have found out is through calling them myself. They never reach out to me to let me know anything that's going on with it and I'm not even sure now what I'm going to owe. The tech guy is never there. The other guy never seems to know what's going on. He has been put out with me even calling and asking what's taking so long. I have been able to work or even complete taxes on my own because of not having my computer. It's causing a major issue for me. I really don't know what's going on with my computer but they're acting like now it may need something major done to it and it did not have this problem before it went in there. So I don't really know what to expect other than I would really like to get my computer back and I would like for it to be working properly and with all of my information and data still on there and at this point I feel like I shouldn't even have to pay them anything because they do not contact me ever. I have no idea what's going on. I am very frustrated.

      Hello,

Not sure why this customer has contacted the BBB. We are waiting on the customer to bring in her new computer to transfer the data to it. She has been contacted multiple times with the last message left for her on 5/14/25.

      Thanks,

      Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:

      Sincerely,
I am not happy with the response from the business. The phone call I received stated that he wanted to know if I had gotten a new computer so that I could bring it in and they would do a data transfer. The only thing wrong with my computer when I took it in was that it needed a new port where the power cord plugged in. But they never communicated with me at all through the entire process! I had to call them if I wanted any updates I feel like they have either damaged the computer and do not want to admit it. I have kept records of their attempts to contact me. They haven't even explained what is wrong with the computer. It worked fine when dropped it off other than needing the new port put in. I dropped the computer off at the end of Feb. It's now May 18th. I cannot afford to buy a new computer for the data transfer. So now I'm at a loss for what to do? I am literally devastated with this new information. I need to be compensated by digital Java. I feel like they should replace the computer. I don't feel like they have been 100% honest. It's been a real headache dealing with them. They even have poor customer ratings I recently found out. Anything you can do to help me with this will sure be appreciated.

      Business Response

      Hello,

On more than one occasion we notified the customer that the board was damaged due to the short caused by the power port. We also attempted to repair the board after replacing the port. Very time consuming attempts. We also, on 2 occasions notified the customer that the board was more than likely damaged beyond repair but we would still try and see what we could do. We called and left messages at least 2 times during May that the board was damaged beyond repair and also 2 times we talked to the customer that she should replace the computer.  We have spent over 15 hours working on this computer. We are also only charging $65.00 plus tax which can be used to transfer data to a new unit as advised previously or customer this would be considered a diagnostic / bench fee. We did not cause the damage to the board. The damage was caused by the power jack being damaged and shorting the board out. Pretty common with power jack damage on devices. We also have not received any calls from the customer as of 5-9-25 or from our 5-14-25 messages.

As of this notice, we are done with this repair, have advised that the computer needs to be replaced on more than one occasion and that we can do a data transfer to a new computer. We request that the customer come in to pickup the unit, pay for the bench fee or advise us to recycle the unit and we will eat the diagnostic charge.
