My advice is to avoid this company. My personal dealings with Derrick ******* were fine but Cheryl *******, co-owner, did not complete my order in a responsible manner and it's quite possible she never intended to craft my order. In short, on May 3rd, 2024 I provided detailed instructions, multiple color images, and repeated guidance (emails and texts) regarding my order of a simple Star Wars Baylan Skoll costume (vest, tabards, cape, boot covers...and hem a pair of pants) and even made the long drive to their modest shop three times. As of today, July 13th, over 8 WEEKS LATER, nothing but the hemmed pants (pants that I provided) had been accomplished. Furthermore, after our last meeting, over a six-week period she never informed me that she wasn't working on the order. I finally made the long drive to her shop, my 4th trip in an attempt to motivate her to just get the order done. Upon arriving, I asked to see what she had finished. She stated, quote, "…We had two baby surgeries..." and "...I have the pants finished", and "You were going to order the boiled wool..." fabric that wouldn’t be needed till the END of the order. I wasn't offered an apology but instead, as the above excuses show, a lack of taking accountability and reasonable customer service. Being that I could no longer rely on her "promises" (which she had made several), I cancelled the order having wasted 2 months of time, gas, and money. Case in point, because I left a "negative" review on social media, they twisted the facts and threatened Google and myself with legal action for reasons not based in any law but as an attempt to "cancel" my 1st Amendment rights to free speech (within reason). Obviously I can't recommend a company that threatens and blames it's clients instead of taking accountability. Their attitude towards customers like myself is the reason I am posting this warning. Be very careful about doing business with the Pearson Leather Company. You may never get your order.
