    I got a membership a year ago, I had to move away to another state and I called to have them cancel it which they said they had done. Then I got another monthly fee taken out randomly this month after months of not receiving one. I called and they instructed me to email the manager which I did. Im homeless so I don't have any utility bills in my name and they're saying they need proof of address to refund me and stop my membership which I provided with mail from the state of California. I provided a jury summons and a paper from the social security office with my name and mailing address. Now they aren't responding to me at all about this.

    ****** ***** joined GYMBOX Fitness on 8/15/22 on a 12 month membership term.  In February of 2023, as a courtesy for her, we put her membership on freeze, stopping her payments from drafting from 3/15/23 - 7/15/23, for a total of 5 months.  After that time, her monthly payments would resume, and she was then billed on 8/15/23, as discussed.  In addition, the 5 months of freeze time was added to her initial term, extending her obligation to 1/15/24.  Ms. ***** was informed of this when we froze her membership, and it is notated in our system on 2/28/23.  We were contacted via email by Ms. *****, and have been working with her to try to resolve this matter.  By the terms of the membership agreement, she owes her remaining balance, which totals $205.63.  However, as a courtesy, we told her if she could provide proof that she had moved more than 25 miles from our location, we would cancel her membership early with a $50+tax cancellation fee.  She did provide us with a jury summons showing her new address on 8/18/23.  This was communication was documented via email, where we let Ms. ***** know we have accepted the jury summons as proof of move, and she will need to pay the cancellation and the membership will then be cancelled.  To date, we have not received the cancelation fee, nor any other communication from Ms. *****.  We have done everything we can to work with Ms. ***** to resolve this matter, but in order to cancel her membership, she must pay the $50 cancellation fee.  The request of a refund is completely invalid.  We are happy to provide more information upon request.
