    In regards the City of Buckeye water and trash utility company On November 22, 2024 at 5:30 PM I received a 30 second call from the City of Buckeye *************** stating I was going to have my water shut off without payment. This was of course after they were closed and so I was unable to call and verify what had happened since I have paid my bill every month and there should not be a balance. On Monday I attempted to pay but their online portal was down and I was unable to make payment. On Tuesday I called their number and made payment by phone in the egregious amount of ****** which also included a late fee. I was then finally able to talk to a person who said they never received the payment I sent via ********** on 10/10/24 for ******. I was able to verify that in fact they did process that payment on 11/5/2024 and sent proof of payment on 11/27/2024 after being basically called a liar and told it was not their problem as it must have been lost in the mail on the phone. I then logged into my bank on 11/28/24 only to see a second charge for ****** charged again. Both charges were on different days and have different reference numbers. I also logged on to the City of Buckeye website and it now shows both charges and a credit for ******. The city of buckeye actually owes me the return of my ****** payment, refund of late fees of over ***** and the double charge of ****** for a total of ****** of unjustly collected funds. They have not responded appropriately, and I should not have to fight to get this very large sum of money back. I am unsure if this is incompetence or fraudulent at this point and it is not the first time it happened to me where they lost a payment and I had to fight to show proof. The amount of stress and now financial stress at the holidays especially is immeasurable.
