********* ***** ******, owner of *****, negotiated a verbal contract with my neighbor and I to stucco our homes on January 26th, 2025. ***** pestered us for the money for weeks so he could start the project ASAP. Once we started making payments to him on February 12th, ***** became increasingly difficult to contact. Ghosting us completely and lying repeatedly about when crews would show up. ***** eventually found a laborer online to lath my neighbors home but the laborer refused to do any more work as ***** was not paying him. ***** came by to ask my neighbor for another 25% so he could purchase more materials, but has completely disappeared since. I paid ***** $6,900 and my neighbor has paid $9,600. My home has not been touched and my exterior is in disarray as I was instructed to pull everything off my home for this stucco job. ***** even asked to use my trailer for debris, which is sitting in between my home and my neighbors. My trailer if full of my neighbors debris from the lathe work. The lath on my neighbors home has sat there for over a month with no finish date in sight.***** was recommended by my father and we have come to find out he is experiencing personal financial issues. We are pretty sure he has used our money for a lawyer in relation to a custody battle and to fix his truck that broke down. I also believe ***** is using our money for nefarious means as he pleaded for me to send him an additional $500 past 10pm on February 20th. He asked me to not tell my dad and promised he'd get my house done for sure because he keeps his word! Its extremely disheartening to know that someone who my family knows and has doing this work for years, can be so deceitful and dishonest. Purposefully taking advantage of customers who put their faith in him to help us. At this point even if ***** finished the work, I dont have faith in the quality. Im also sure that he no longer has our funds to return.
