    **** was very forgetful and unorganized. It started with showing up 30 min late for our apt. While she was filing my taxes she lost one of my expense sheets so I had to scramble to get those totals sorted out again. When she packed up to leave and asked if I had any final questions, I said yes, what return did I get back from my working from home expenses? She then told me she forgot to even put them into my taxes and did it last minute. This slip-up would have cost me $800 in returns. Later that night she called me to say she also forgot to input my 4-digit security code which is needed to file. All of this made me feel very uneasy about the quality of work she was doing. Then she sent over one year of my tax returns and it wasnt until I asked where the year 2022 was that she even noticed she never sent them over to me, again very forgetful. All of these mistakes and not a single apology. A while after my returns were made I found out none of my electronic payments went through. She had no desire to help fund out why, so when I called the *** and my bank they said the account number she input was only 5 digits long and invalid. I personally handed her a checkbook for the bank I was using to pay my taxes and that was input wrong, causing me to pay late fees. When I reached back out with questions **** was very unprofessional, and rude. She accused me of wanting her to reimburse me for the late fees and said I dont know what to tell you. I had no intention on making **** pay for anything I just reached out for guidance. This whole experience and her level of professionalism were very disappointing and have caused me a lot of stress. I would avoid **** at Sum It Accounting and Tax Solutions.

    Im sorry that ****************** was unhappy with my services. I have been in business for 20 years, and have developed policies and procedures that I follow to promote professionalism and accuracy. I prepare over 475 tax returns annually and take pride in my business.I prepared two years worth of returns for ******************. We had spoken on the phone previous to our appointment, and I had told her that I needed the income and expenses from her business in order to prepare the taxes. I had not specifically said that I needed it broken down into categories of expenses as I incorrectly assumed that since she had had the business for multiple years, that she was aware of this. ****************** struggled to break down these details as I had not been clear. The expense sheet she is referring to in her complaint was a quarter piece of notebook paper with numbers written on it. Unfortunately, it had stuck to the bottom of my laptop and I didnt find it until I went to pack up. We were flipping back and forth between the two years as she would provide me numbers, and I had forgotten to get her identity protection pin from the second year. I called her that evening to get that pin.One of these policies I have developed is verification and reverification of the numbers I input into my system when preparing taxes. This is especially important with bank account numbers. I was provided the bank account number and verified and reverified the number I was provided. Apparently, this number was not complete according to the **** Unfortunately, I am not able to verify what numbers were missing from the paper that I got the number from. I only know that I not only verified the number while inputting, as is my standard practice, but later, after ****************** received the first notice from the *** stating that they could not withdraw her payment due to an incorrect routing or account number, I tried to generate the payment on the *** website, again verifying the number with ****************** verbally over the phone at that time. I use docusign for my clients to get the authorizations to efile returns. Copies of the returns are sent with the docusign, so it is not my policy to resend copies of the returns since the client is instructed through docusign to download copies of their returns when they have completed the signatures. I only send copies of the returns if the client specifically asks me to, which I did when ****************** asked.Another of the policies I have developed is to not mix my personal and professional lives as much as possible. I agree, I was 30 minutes late for my appointment with ******************, and had communicated that I was going to be late a couple of hours before my appointment time. I used the reason that my previous appointment had run later than I had expected, which it had. What I didnt communicate with ****************** was that my previous appointment was taking my husband to the emergency room. When ****************** reached out to me with her complaints and indicated that I was late, I let her know at that time that I was in the emergency room with my husband, and she told me "cut the crap" implying that I was lying about my situation, and stated that I was making it up in order to not take responsibility for my behavior. I let her know at that time that I did all that I could with the information that I had been provided, and I would not be doing any work for her in the future and she then submitted this review.
