      Back in January, Storybook was advertising a drawing for 13 girls to book a FREE magical mermaid photo shoot. In order to enter, you had to put in basic information child age, if youre okay with location, etc. They then go on to ask why this photo shoot is important to you and what it means to have this ******* I enter, talking about ***** autism and how I want her childhood to be magical because its pivotal to her development/growth. I get an email saying we won! I get on the phone with a representative & Hes again asking me why this shoot is important and what it would mean to me to have a portrait of **** in my home. We book a date for the shoot and he asks for a $50 refundable deposit. Confirmation emails are sent and we are all set for our shoot! Which is a small, dainty office.We go into a moderately sized room that has a backdrop, some chairs for parents, a sign that says no photos, and two young ladies that quite literally did not know each others names. Shes all done in about ***** minutes and we schedule a Zoom call to go over photos once theyre touched up and complete. Zoom day arrives and she starts off by creating a sense of urgency and saying that we need to select photos today as they will be deleted after a couple of days. After we select photos she pulls up a chart of packages we can get the lowest one being $7,000! She goes on to say that because this is a luxury studio, they dont offer digital only packages but I can use my $500 credit to apply toward one of the packages they have. I declined and told her that this felt very deceptive as none of this was explained and it felt like a bait and switch. . So she tells me that she can send me some digital prints for $450 and apply my initial $50 deposit to it to total $400. When asked why I cant just use my $500 credit to pay for the digital she told me that they are unable to accommodate that but she will apply the credit toward my 8x10 print out that Id receive in the mail
