In December 2023, I contacted Custom Diecast Replicas to have a model made of my 2019 Mclaren Senna. A work order was created by *** **** the owner (copy attached). Since that time, he has not shown any progress on completing the model. Along the way he has offered several excuses. I have tried contacting him and he has not returned my emails. I called him in the spring of 2024, and he said he got a big order and that it was taking all his time. The last time I heard from him was an email on May 7, 2024. It only included pictures of some finish materials but no pictures of the model. On numerous emails I asked him to show me some progress by including pictures of the model being built and he never did.I requested a refund on Feb 14, 2025, and have still not heard anything back from him. A PDF of the entire email thread is *********** per the work order, I was required to pay a deposit of $637.50. I did that via ****** on Dec 22, 2023. A copy of my **************************** statement containing that payment is attached. That is the amount I expect him to refund to me.Business Response

on the work order it states that timeframe is an estimate at best and That things come up that can prevent the deadline, I have ongoing health problems and have been trying to get caught up. I looked through the thousands of emails since feb and did not see one. I have already purchased materials and started some work on the replica it also states on the work order that once work is started there is no refund as I have used that deposit money for materials. I dont get paid for my work until the job is finished. I will take a look at the project this week and see what needs to be finished up.

June 2020 I sent *** ******. That's half down to build a replica for me. We were shooting for Xmas. That came and went. Then he claimed covid and was trying for the next Xmas. Every 4 to 6 months he keeps telling me that his wife was in the hospital or he was out of electricity then it was he's super swamped. I have asked for a refund but he says he spent the money on materials. I leave message after message. Now he just won't answer me and I feel like he's a scam. This has gone on too long.Business Response

I have emailed customer a few weeks ago with no response I had a computer crash with all his file info and tried to reach out but the email cicked back. i waited for a email and never got one. then a few weeks a go i received an email I told him how excited i was that he reached out as the file had been lost and his email I didn't have. i have purchased materials car is about 55% finished I had some questions for him regarding specifics on the project and haven't heard back. now i see this i also see this is the second notice I dont see where I received the first.
this was my response to his email to me:
****, man I cant apologize enough, there has been so much that has happened since our last email. I had a computer crash with all my files and backups on it. Lost years of stuff! Now I have a server that input everything in also. Do you have the original work order? I found your project yesterday as I was going through the entire studio I had put it in one of the cabinet to keep it safe. Its in a bin marked your name. I have also had some really messed up health problems. Im actually at the blood and cancer center all day today doing my blood. I have a rate bone marrow disease that affects the amount of red blood cells I have. Can you email me the photos and work order if you have that in your stuff please! The car is about 65% finished I know I was getting ready to reach out and ask you about the stripe color I thought we had said it was red but if I remember correctly it almost looked an orange and wanted to double check with you! Please send everything you have over and I will make it the number one priority to finish it up.
*** P WOODI would like to finish this up and receive the final payment. as it has taken up a lot of room in my cabinet for a long time.

Contacted this business to inquire about having a custom replica made for my car. This was on 10/21/2023. I was given a price quote and told that I could expect to wait 5-7 months. I was totally fine with that and honestly I wasn't in a rush. In order to get started I would need to send a 50% and a "donor" model which would be used as the base for the custom model. I sent the deposit on 11/15/23. *** confirmed they received the donor model via an email on 11/24/13. After hearing no updates, I emailed the owner of this business on 4/26/24. I received no response. I emailed again on 5/31/24 and received various responses saying he was sick or hadn't made any progress. I emailed again on 3/2/25 expressing concern about the fact that never once has the owner reached out to me about the model or the status. I also asked for a refund of my deposit and donor model returned. I have received no response. I emailed again on 3/11/25. Still no response. I get it, things happen in life.....keep your customers posted and be proactive. Why is it always me that has to reach out? This is the biggest red flag for me. I'm a reasonable person, just communicate. If you can't complete the model.....tell me, I'll take my money and move on. Being that the owner doesn't even want to reply with any excuses anymore. So it looks like he took my deposit and donor car. Buyer beware of merchants like this that make **** sure they get your deposit and signature on a work order. Most times the contract isn't worth the paper it's written on, like this one.Initial Complaint

I provide a service in creating one of a kind custom replicas of a customer's full size car down to scale 1:18. This is a straightforward unless there is a rarity in the car for the donor body. Mr. ******* car is just one example of this being the case. He has placed a deposit on the car in the amount of ****** to pay for materials and to officially book his project. the 2021 C8 convertible is a car that is not readily available for the body and has to be obtained by several factors, the first aspect of the build was damaged a little over a year ago when the car was almost finished and it was unrepairable, I have since then been working , yes slowly on this project in order to finish this up for him, aspects of the car has been hand made and items like the wheels and front splitter etc all designed and made by hand with approximately ****** hours put into the project to date. I am just about finished with the car I emailed him a few weeks ago to inform **** that his car is almost finished and needed to check a few items on the front of the car and if he could then send me a photos. He has never been one to respond to my emails very quickly, He is 1 of 86 customers that has signed a work order with the understanding that on the first line of this work contract states... ******** will do all in its control to meet budget and TIMETABLE needs though they are estimates in both cases. Please note that finding parts, creating body panels, hoods, Convertible and hardtop conversions, creating wheels and others parts, casting resin, creating custom graphics for emblem replacement could and can cause delays to the completion time stated.Initial Complaint

I ordered a custom diecast model vehicle on approximately June 5, 2023 and put down a $525.00 deposit (half of the total price). ***, the owner of the company, estimated it would be completed between January 5 and February 5, 2024, a period of approximately 8 months. I checked in occasionally and was told at the one year **** that the model should be finished by the end of July. However, in following up on August 21, 2024, I received a response that there were still customers with models in front of me. *** did not provide a set time to complete my model. This is particularly frustrating because it has now been almost twice as long as originally estimated. *** has been a poor communicator throughout the model making process. He has only provided updates when I have contacted him, and even then it has required me to reach out multiple times to get responses. While I understand the projected timeframe is an estimate, 14-and-a-half months for an 8-month project seems unreasonable. *** has been slow to provide photo updates to suggest he is making any progress. When I raised these concerns, *** has made numerous excuses and indicated it just takes time. For reference, *** primarily communicates with me via email at: ******************************Business Response

the completion time is only estimated and is mentioned twice in the work order. I have reached out to the customer following this complaint . Matter of fact a few days ago I sent him photos. he said thank you. I have 62.5 hours logged time on his project to date over the course of several months of highly detailed work. He is also aware there is no refund as he signed the work order that stated this. There are so many hours in a day and he is in line with others for work to be done.Customer Answer

Better Business Bureau:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me.The business has indicated they will resume work on the project if I withdraw the complaint. If the project is completed in a reasonable period of time I will not file a complaint.
I will wait for the business to perform this action and, if it does, will consider this complaint resolved.
