AC rangers came out and diagnosed an HVAC system because my tenant complained about high bills this HOT summer of 2024. AC Rangers provided an estimate for $2,442.73 for HVAC work, enclosed. This HVAC was replaced less than a year ago. After seeing their estimate, I called the company that replaced the unit and they indicated that everything was working fine. The house has both air and pool, due to the heat and electric bill increases the bills were higher than normal. I live in the area and my bills were high too, higher than theirs. After my **** looked at the unit, confirming it was working acceptably, the tenant has not registered any complaints. The Property Manager, Service Star, showed AC rangers charged me $88.75 for the Service Call. How can AC Rangers be billing for work that would have cost $2,442.73 for a new HVAC system. This amount should be reimbursed and the business should be reported for their trying to charge that amount for a HVAC system that is working fine.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention, we have reached out to the customer and refunded his money as this is the first time we have been made aware of this situation and that the customer didn't agree to the charges after going out and accessing the situation.

I have not received the refund.  There should be something noted of this business giving me a repair estimate for $2,440 and noting a number of problems when the **** system is working and was less than a year old.

If this **** business continues to create these time of estimates, for a working system, it seems fraudulent. Is there any way to review their recommendations, to determine if they are justified.  Customers are getting price gouged if they give these type of estimates for a **** system that is less than a year old and the installer said there wasn't anything wrong with it, nor was there an issue after both companies left.  Working fine.

    Customer Answer

It was never resolved, this company never explained why they stated the components were bad.  The HVAC installer went to the property stating nothing was wrong.

This company was taking advantage of customers/me in the summer months charging prices that are not justified.

Thank you for bringing this back up to our attention. When I (*****-Office Manager) spoke to **** I stated we would send him a check and to please elt me know if he had any further issues and never heard back from him. After doing some research the check we sent him was never cashed. We mailed a new check to **** today for his diagnosis fee.
