    THEY ARE NOT A TREATMENT CENTER. My son (who was dealing with addiction and mental health) was referred to the John Volken Academy in ****, ********** from the local detox center. Upon arrival, he had to sign their policies and rules to abide by. One of their stipulations for acceptance was to cut his hair. Part of our culture, as a Native American, is to keep our hair long. They cut his hair after he questioned it, but they told him that he had already signed the paperwork. He has since left the facility. This facility should not be allowed to be advertised as a treatment center. They are not managed by anyone and are not a licensed facility.
