Accepted their Proposal ($8005) to remove/replace attic furnace and rooftop condenser at my rental property. Asked their job ******* when I could expect to see their crane to hoist new condenser. Next thing I know their office calls to say they thought condenser was on the ground, not roof. I asked "why didn't you ****** Earth" before sending out Proposal - it clearly shows on roof. Anyway, I reluctantly agreed to the added $500. Next got a call to say they couldn't hoist the new furnace thru the attic hatch because the hatch was too small. Their ******* told me in person he didn't want to cut the finished drywall ceiling and support framing. So I went down the street to ask a ********* who was working nearby. He obliged. During attic furnace install they gouged the hallway finished walls and their men stepped thru the hallway drywall ceiling in 2 places from the attic above. Their office claimed they had a drywall guy that could make repairs but no one to re-construct the framing and do the finish painting. Asked me if I did and I told them yes. A day after they finished the main flex duct disconnected from the furnace so all cooling was blowing wildly in the attic (see picture of duct and drywall damage enclosed). They came out that same day and re-connected it. At that time, I had only paid their requested 50% deposit. I ended up paying them in full less $700 for the drywall repairs that had to be made. I hired 321 Contracting (see invoice enclosed) to perform the repairs, which came to $750. I recently hired a Home Inspector ($200) to come out to specifically check Extremes work. He opened up the attic hatch and found that same duct had separated. The tenant had also complained that when using heat mode, the unit would continue to blow cool air. I sent Extreme notices about inspection and duct conditions. Thier response was in essence were not paying for repairs and once you pay the balance due (without accepting backcharges) we'll come out.
