  After winning an auction item from EJ's Auction & Appraisal, I requested that they provide me through email the images that they posted in their listing so that I could provide them to my Insurance Company.I accessed their auction via my cellphone. They told me to "just print them". I wanted the images emailed either to me or my insurance carrier. They told me that "we don't do that". After requesting this information numerous times I asked **'s to please forward my request to the owner (EH). Then the office manager told me "I'll mail you copies when I get around to it"'. The auction ended October 7, 2023. I'm typing this January 24, ****. They are quick to demand payment and rarely if ever answer questions or provide information.

  EJs, run by *******************, sold me a fake. It was a painting, represented by EJs as an original by a reputed artist. After the auction I received a letter from the artists estate confirming that what I was sold was not authentic. I immediately provided this to EJs and asked them to do the right thing and reverse the sale. They responded by reminding me of the disclosure way down at the bottom of the last page of their very tiny and long print that states: The auctioneer shall not be responsible for the correct description, authenticity of, or defect in any lot. That was their drop the mic moment, a true testimony to their character and a stunning admission of how they really feel about the customers who make their business work. If you decide to risk your hard earned income on an EJs auction, just know that they think you are as stupid as me, the dumb customer who was naive enough to think EJs Auction and ******************* might have enough integrity to do what any other authentic auction houses would do and right the kind of wrong that defines an auctioneers reputation. Profiting off of fraud is not a good business model. Good riddance.

  Wow, even EJs response is dishonest. I was not refunded in full. I was refunded for the amount represented by the seller, which they clearly took from the seller. What EJs did NOT refund was their Buyers Premium, which I paid directly to them, and the cost I paid directly to them to ship the fraudulent painting. And this is even worse, because it means even after acknowledging it was a fake by making the seller give back his money, they still kept the profit they made off of me by selling and handling the fake painting. Its profit by acknowledged fraud. I too have all of the transaction information, including credit card receipt and paid invoice which I will provide to the BBB. I am also pursuing this fraud with my credit card merchant.
