I was able to get accepted into the *** 205 class with a later start date than the class began. I wasn't able to attend in person so I submitted a disability form stating that. The instructor stated since I have a physical disability and am unable to attend in person then he was just going to drop me from the class. I followed the proper procedures in disclosing the information and submitting the forms and before I could submit the papers from my surgeon they just withdrew class. This is the last class needed for my associate degree in network cybersecurity.

    Business Response

    Date: 03/11/2024

Thank you for bringing this concern to our attention; our goal is for increased completion of credentials for all students; we are sorry to hear one of our students is experiencing a challenge with her program of student; below is our response.

Course modality is not decided based on an individual student's situation
Students with disabilities should connect with our ******************** Services team to discuss what options are available
The college is a District of 10 colleges; courses can be earned at any institution offering the modality that best serves the students and applies to their degree at the home institution.
In some cases, if a particular class has limited offerings, courses similar in content/structure can be substituted as programmatic requirements for students.
Students are encouraged to seek help from academic advisors to help them navigate the complexities of the degree, I would encourage the student to reach out to their Feild of Interest Advisor to allow us an opportunity to walk through solutions with the student.

    Thank You,
    *****************
