      On August 31, I submitted a vendor application for a craft fair sponsored by ***************** ************* and paid the required $40 fee. The dates of the event were 10/14 and 10/15/23. On 10/11/23, I was notified by the event planner, *************************** that the event was canceled as there was no way to accommodate the outside vendors due to seeding the winter lawn. I was advised that my fee would be refunded. On 10/11/23 at 4:59pm, I called the ************* ********** ********************* to verify that the event was to be canceled and asked how to obtain a refund. I left a detailed message on her vm. She did not return my call. I called her again on 10/16 at 11:07am and left the message again. Again no return call. I also contacted via text the Treasurer of the *************, ************************* on 10/16 at 9:53 am, who stated that I would not be refunded as the event was still held for those vendors who had spaces in the clubhouse. I was not a clubhouse vendor, those spots were full when I signed up so I was assigned to the grass area in question. I explained that to her and sent her a picture of the ** post showing the event as "canceled". No response from her as of the time of this complaint. This shows poor coordination on their part to "sell" spots on their grass area on the weekend that no one was allowed on the grass. And if the event was not canceled, why did *** not call me back and explain that to me? Instead of posting it as a canceled event on ********* I have dealt with them in good faith by signing up and paying for an event up front. I was terribly disappointed to have worked hard for more than a month to create inventory then to be canceled and not able to go. I simply want a refund of what I paid for an event I was not allowed to attend. Then this matter can be closed. I hope this type of "shady" business practice does not extend to all of their business dealings and is confined to the activity club alone. Thank you for any help you can give.
