    I'm being charged a five hundred dollar abandoned vehicle fee for a vehicle that was police impounded. When I attempted to retrieve the vehicle, a representative of quality auto body at **** ***** in **************** informed me that it was her vehicle and I wouldn't be able to take it with me. The vehicle was in a crash and wasn't drivable so I didn't fight with her about it. However, she had filed said vehicle as abandoned even though I tried to pick it up within the time allowed by ******* law. This is fraud, as I'm sure it's evident. Completely unacceptable for any business and I pray someone does something about this

    ********* came in November 2023 asking about a vehicle that was towed early to mid 2021. Whether a vehicle is a police impound or not, it is considered abandoned if it is not picked up within a set amount of time. We cannot transfer a title until the state gives us authorization to do so. I do not remember this vehicle or the customer for 2021 (I only know that is the time because the date was on the letter, he brought from the **** that date would either be the date title was transferred or the date they sent him the letter, I did not look at it closely.) He claims I said we owned the car at the time he came in which would mean it was well past the 30 days. So, he is either mistaking about the date or mistaking about what I said. 

    When he was in my office last week, I told him there is nothing I can do about a vehicle that we filed on and transferred title over 2 years ago. I did not raise my voice or swear at him (which is what he went onto ****** to say) He said on his way out that he would do his best to slam me on the internet and this is his attempt to. I don't care, our customers know that I do not treat people the way he said I acted as well as there were other customers in the office at the time. 

    He is under the impression that I or the BBB can do something about his fine. Neither the BBB nor I can remove his fine with the **************** for abandonment of a vehicle because he did abandon it. When he was in my office he started by saying he couldn't come when it was towed because his was locked up and by the time he got out we owned it (those were his words, I do not remember anything of this tow from 2.5 years ago)

    I also called his boss after he left the ****** review since he was wearing his work shirt to let my fellow business owners know that his employee was acting like that while wearing a company logo.
