On November 2, 2023 I purchased a cashier's check and paid for it to be overnighted by ***** to the main office for my rent payment. I confirmed via ***** it was delivered as promised. ***** was able to confirm via GPS records that the payment was delivered as expected. On November 7, 2023, I became aware that the payment had not posted to my account. I sent an email to the front office requesting they locate the payment and properly apply it to my account. They responded that they don't have any records of anyone signing for it. They also said they could not find it. On November 10, 2023, I advised them ***** confirmed delivery to their office using GPS records. The response I received in person was essentially, "oh well. You have to pay by November 17, 2023 or we will refer your account for eviction." At this time, I am being required to pay twice the normal amount for the month of November, plus late fees. I will also be forced to pay late fees on other bills that I won't be able to pay to rectify this situation. In addition, I am forced to take time away from work, which is adding to what will likely be a damages claim I will be making. What I want: 1. I want a proper investigation by the management of the complex to locate and properly apply my rent payment, which I have confirmed was delivered.2. I want a temporary credit to be applied to my account until all research has been completed, and either the cashier's check is confirmed destroyed or stolen by *********** (Issuer of cashier's check) or the payment is found and properly applied towards my rent payment history.
