I took my Rav4 into ****`s on 5/15/25 to have 4 new tires installed. ****`s installed the tires and balanced them. Drove the car home and it was horrible. It was shaking and shimmying the whole way home. I also noticed that they had moved the front rims to the back and the back rims to the front. I did not ask them to do this and there was no reason to do it since all 4 tires being put on were new. I called over the next few days to try and get back in to get the problem corrected. I took it over, one *** said I will drive it and then check the torque on the lug nuts. He drove and said he could not feel anything wrong with it, torqued the lug nuts and sent me home. I get all the way home and the fill in manager ** calls me and asks me to bring it back ******* I took it back over clear across town, once again. They fooled with it, balanced the tires. I asked them to put the back rims back on the front as they were when I originally brought it in. He said that both of the back rims were bent that's why they were on the back. Now mind you this is news to me because those rims were bought brand new and installed by ******* ****** on 9/22/22. I could see one of the rims being bent, but not both of them. My car is now literally undrivable, due to the whole car shaking. It could possibly be unsafe as well, that I am not sure about. I will never take my car back to ****`s for anything. I do however want some remedy to this so I can take it to the dealer and try to get it fixed so that it is drivable.

We took our ******************* two weeks ago for an issue with low oil pressure. We had several issues with this shop.1) They never called us. My husband had to call each time for status.2) We were told that our vehicle was throwing all sorts of codes, although my husband had a scanner and it only showed one. We were quoted over $1,600 for a new battery and alternator to fix our issue. Against the red flags we authorized this.3) After the "repairs" we were told that it did not fix anything and we needed a new engine and turbocharger for the tune of $12,000.4) We chose to tow our vehicle to the dealership where they quickly assessed our vehicle and changed out a wire for $700 that fixed our original ******** this shop did not fix our issue I cannot say that we needed a new battery and alternator. The fact that they then wanted to charge us an additional $12,000 when the fix was much simpler and cost effective tells me that they are either shady and ripping people off or incompetent. Both are bad. I highly recommend choosing the dealership or another mechanic over this location.

Weve had regular and continuous service for our vehicle at Sun Devil Auto. Recently we had multiple costly repairs of brakes, rotors, fuel pump, and more. Each diagnostic has resulted in costly repairs that weve gotten done by sun devil. At the end of January *** Devil told us that the fuel pump (among other things) needed to be replaced due to leaking fuel. We initially went in for an oil change. We agreed to the service even though the cost was high. A week a a half later while on the freeway the vehicle made a clink noise and started to shake. We took it immediately to a *** Devil at a different location where they told us they would try to look at it same day. They didnt call and then on Monday I had to call to ask for an update. I was advised they would look at it & call me back. They didnt. I had to call again & was then told that it was an issue with the engine and the fuel pump needed replacement. I told them it was brand new & just replaced a week and a half prior. They then said they would check on it. They said they would be able to work on it and replace it for free but that the engine was part of a recall and they had called ******* to confirm it.I then had to call to check on the status. Once it was done we had to have it towed to the dealer for diagnostic. There we were told that they would do the review and submit to *******. ******* confirmed it was not part of a recall & was part of an engine issue caused more than likely from fuel pump/ lack of fuel to the engine. This would have only been caused from the faulty fuel pump installed. There was less than 100 miles driven on it since they replaced it & yet the faulty fuel pump caused the engine to fail and need to be replaced. The engine needs to be replaced now & wouldnt have to be if they had performed quality work & ensured the part worked effectively. Had there been safeguards a new engine wouldnt be required. They are responsible for the engine replacement now due to their failure

      To Whom It May Concern,

On January 17, 2025, the customer brought in their 2017 ******* ****** with ****** miles for an oil change and to inspect a slight fuel smell. Upon inspection, we discovered that the rear low-pressure fuel pump in the fuel tank was leaking and recommended its replacement. Additionally, we noted that the rear brakes were under 3mm and recommended replacement. The customer approved the oil change, fuel pump replacement, and rear brake service, all of which were completed under invoice #*********.

Contrary to their claim, we do not have any record of multiple visits for repairs. Additionally, there is no evidence in our system that the vehicle ever returned to Sun Devil Auto or any other Sun Auto location following this service.

It is important to note that ******* has issued a significant recall for the 2.4L Theta II engines due to widespread issues, including engine knocking, stalling, and even complete engine failure. Investigations have determined that manufacturing defectssuch as rough crankshaft surfacesled to bearing wear and engine failure. A low-pressure fuel pump would not be capable of causing this type of damage.

For further details on this recall, we encourage the customer to review *******'s official recall information at the following link: *************************************************

As this issue is related to a manufacturer defect, we will not be issuing a refund. The customer will need to follow up with ******* or their dealership for further resolution.

      Best regards,

      Customer Answer

The fuel pump was faulty due to their manufacturer and caused the need for replacement and additional damage. The statement of receiving repairs done was misunderstood- weve had this vehicle serviced at Sun Devil auto spanning the entire time weve owned the vehicle and they have done all repairs. Your records should show that. That statement was intended to demonstrate that we have been longstanding customers and had entrusted the care of the vehicle to them. Based on the tone and lack of any accountability or any genuine attempt to seek a resolution within Sun Devil Auto response demonstrates this loyalty and faith we had in their care and commitment to their customers was in vain.  We are a means to a profit and any actual appreciation or care for customer is quite obviously nonexistent. The fact Sun Devil chose to immediately push back and go on defense instead of partnering for any resolution speaks of your business model. A BBB and other rating should reflect this. Reputational risk is also appears to be of no concern to this company. Bottom line- we sought service and repair from Sun Devil and their product failed resulting in additional damage to the vehicle and danger to the driver. Sun Devil assumed no accountability for that and appears to be preying on the lack of mechanical knowledge to exploit and deflect their responsibility. I sincerely hope they reconsider and try to seek resolution. Our ask is for a refund of the cost of the fuel pump and the replacement of engine with no charge. If Sun Devil stands firm on their original cold response, we will also never again patron your establishment and will encourage others to do the same. We will also have to seek alternative resolutions.

Sun Devil Autos lack of any actual concern for their customers or for their own reputational and brand risk is a demonstration of their poor business practices and lack of integrity or ethics. I demand my desired outcome and will continue to press for this. I reject any of their responses that demonstrate lack of accountability and failure to make right in their faulty service and equipment.

Took my vehicle into a different shop in ** due to my car making a screeching sound every time I would brake. I was told by ******** that my rear and front brakes/rotors should be replaced which was performed. The screeching continued despite ******** stating that a clear film would burn off and eventually the screeching would go away and it never did. Brought my vehicle to another shop in ** and was informed "FOUND FRONT ROTORS ARE NOT CORRECT SIZE. 345 MM ROTORS ARE INSTALLED, VEHICLE SHOULD HAVE 360 MM. FRONT BRAKE PADS ARE NOT CORRECTLY CONTACTING ROTOR. FOUND NO LUBRICATION ON BRAKE PAD CONTACT POINTS. REPLACE ROTORS WITH CORRECT PARTS. WITH CORRECT ROTORS INSTALLED, FOUND FRONT BRAKE PADS DO NOT FIT. BRAKE PADS ARE TEXTAR ****** - FOUND THAT CROSS REFERENCES TO MASERATI NUMBER ********* - WHICH HAS APPLICATIONS FOR GRANTURISMO'S AND EARLY QUATTROPORTE'S. REPLACE BRAKE PADS WITH CORRECT PARTS. FOUND REAR BRAKE: NO LUBRICATION WAS USED ON BRAKE PAD CONTACT POINTS"We had to pay ************************** $1878.36 to fix things that should have already been completed. More than anything, this oversight and putting the wrong parts on my vehicle compromised my safety and that of my children riding in my car with the wrong brakes/rotors across the country back to CA because of the increased risk of brake failure. Despite many emails back and forth with ******** regarding the continuing grinding I heard after the service was performed, I was told over and over that this was normal and would eventually go away with driving. This eventually could have ended badly and this is ridiculous. The wrong parts were ordered before as well and I was told that the manager, that he personally would be going to ******** in ****** to pick up the correct part for my vehicle. ******** did an oil change on our *** as well and it was found by another shop in ********** that they did not put the screen back on which was yet another cost for us to replace and have the work performed correctly

A young man that Im close to his family took his vehicle to this shop right before Christmas to have his oil changed. He used this vehicle to drive home to ****************, ******** and back. On the way back this young man made it to ******** before the oil plug came out and drained the oil all over the highway. The car went into limp mode to try and save the engine, he had it towed into ********, where a mechanic informed him that the oil plug had come out and that that the plug that he purchased to reinstall in the engine would not work, he said the last oil plug was cross threaded, and that is the reason that it likely came out on the highway. He had to re-tap the oil pan and use a larger plug. This young man then proceeded to continue his journey back home where he is a student at ***. Just before he reached ***********, the car went into limp mode again. We had it towed to another shop in ***********. They did a diagnostic, and found metal shavings in the oil pan. They informed us that this is likely going to be a costly repair and that he should probably fly home until it is complete. They sent it off for a diagnostic test to find out what was wrong and it was at this point that I sent an inquiry to Sun Devil auto asking if there was anything they could help us with. They have been very uncooperative, they have said that this is not something that they will warranty their work for. We are basically on our own to replace an engine that this company ruined. Because we had gone 1600 miles and several weeks had passed since the oil was changed they are saying they are not negligent. So I give you a word of caution, unless you want to pay for costly repairs yourself I would avoid this shop. They do not stand behind their work and will protect their negligent mechanics.

I was totally scammed by Sun Devil Auto #**** at Baseline and ************* I took my 2005 **** Ranger there on 7/13/2024 and on 7/15/2024 the salesperson *********************************** told me my Ranger had a blown head gasket and it needed to be replaced for $3,993.99. However, when the engine was inspected with a camera by *********************** on 7/16/2024, they found no gasket or engine damage whatsoever. The problem was only a fuel injector. Sun Devil Auto had specifically said it was not a fuel system problem. They fraudulently diagnosed head gasket blown causing water to get into cylinder #5, compression is low. There was no water or coolant in any cylinder.I authorized Sun Devil Auto to do the $3,993.99 work on 7/15 but 3 minutes later I called and told them I wanted a second opinion from **** instead. ***** was rude and said **** would make the same conclusion. I said I would like to find out. He said, ****, Ill slap it back together and you can just pay the diag fee, which had been quoted as $184.06. When I picked up the truck that afternoon, he attempted to charge me more than the quoted diagnostic fee, but I only had $200 so he took that. He told me I had to have the truck removed from the property before they opened in the morning, or he would have it towed. He pressured me by repeatedly stating that any further damage to my truck was not their responsibility and required me to sign a document to that effect. They did not put the truck back together as promised but left the intake cover off and loose in the engine compartment. I had my truck towed to *********************** that night. ********* completed the fuel injector repair, and the truck runs fine.

7/19/24 dropped off car. 7/24/24 got estimate for $3000. 7/25/24 took car to ****** dealership estimate was only $337. Sun Devil was charging for parts and labor for things that didn't need to be fixed. When researching this Ahwatukee location customers have been complaining about tires not being rotated and they marked the tires so knew they were lying. I believe they are committing fraud with their customers. Spoke to **** the assistant manager who didn't seem to care just wanted me to fork over $$. The general manager ******* just sits in his back office ignoring everything.

To Whom It May ************************************* brought in her vehicle to diagnose the air conditioner blowing warm and requested a general inspection. The diagnosis found the A/C condenser and suction hose needed to be replaced. As a necessary step in the repair process, an evacuation and recharge of the freon was included in the quote and an explanation of these findings were presented to the guest.

As part of the general inspection, we found the power steering rack to be leaking and in need of replacement. Being unrelated to the original concern, we advised the guest of our findings and provided a quote for this concern as well. As this was not the primary concern, we suggested to fix the A/C and return to address the power steering problem.

Without having documentation from ******* I suspect they only quoted an evacuation and recharge and did not complete a full inspection on the vehicle to identify the additional concerns. We believe our pricing is both fair and in line within the market. In fact, our evacuation and recharge itself starts at $229.99 and includes 1lb of freon, which is competitive in comparison to the $337.00 cost provided by Toyota.

We believe this to be a simple misunderstanding and not willful intent. Our goal is to ****** long-term relationships with our guests by operating with high levels of integrity and transparency to make positive impacts in the lives of our guests and our communities.

      Sincerely,

Tires worn improperly due to lack of rotation at oil change when asked and said they would. This happened numerous times and to other people I know. This is unfair that a car with ****** miles would need new tires I went to discount to measure wear which is a highly reputable place and they showed me the measurements 4 in front and 6 in the back
